Very glad he won the match easily :) - don't think my throat could have stood up to a tough match (yes, I do shout a lot when he's playing ;)).

I didn't go into work all weekend - my manager was very understanding. I'm feeling a bit better, although I sound like a 90 year old woman, who has smoked 50 a day for the past 70 years, when I cough!! I managed to sleep for around 6 hours last night, so am a bit more 'with it' now. I'll try to go into work tomorrow (2-8).

£100 was paid off the council tax arrears this morning, meaning they are down to £1,000.

I am £1.75 away from claiming £50 from New Vista. Really hope I get there this month.

OH bought me a gift with his wages yesterday - a new hoover :rotfl:. I was struggling to use the one we have. It was too heavy and it made me very breathless pushing it around the flat. I also couldn't get it up and down the stairs. OH did what he could hoovering wise, but I'm obviously here more than he is, so I do more housework than him.

Anyway, he got me one of the cordless Dysons - and it's amazing!! So light to push around and carry. It also converts to a handheld, which I can use to keep the car tidy.

I'm therefore going to sell my little Hetty hoover, which is in the garage. Hoping to get around £40 for her.

  • Sorry not posted for a while, been a bit busy:(. Everyone and his dog seemed to need a hand with something this past few days, don't know whether I'm coming or going:rotfl:. I hope I can rely on calling in some favours should I need them any time.

Great news about Andy:j. Didn't see the match (we haven't got Sky anyway) but reports of it sound brilliant. French Open should be good for him this year now he's built up so much confidence on clay:T. Go Andy

Your Dyson sounds brilliant. I had an original Dyson but sold it after about a month as I just couldn't get on with it. So heavy and cumbersome to carry up and down stairs. It was a competition prize (I really wanted one and tried so hard for months to win one) and was very disappointed that it wasn't what I expected:( . Still, the money I made was pure profit:j

Couldn't decide what to get instead (nothing like your version available that far back) so I bought a temporary Panasonic lightweight regular one and still have it. Has done sterling service and shows no sign (yet) of breaking down. Will certainly keep your model in mind for when I can afford/need to replace mine. Maybe I could try to win one;)

I'm so pleased you're feeling more up to going to work but as your manager is so sympathetic please don't rush back until you are 100% better. I know the money will be useful and you don't like letting people down but your health is the most important thing. Take care xx

I've been up since 2am :(. Went back to work yesterday, but wish I hadn't. Felt so tired there and got sick of customers looking at me like I had the bubonic plague every time I coughed. I'm due in today at 2pm, but don't think I'll be able to go - especially seeing as I've only had 3 hours sleep. I'll drag myself down to the doctors later to see if there's anything they can give me (even though it's just a cough) - need to get this sorted out sooner rather than later.

In better news, I've been told I've won this competition:

Looking forward to seeing what I'll receive in my goody bag.

    Thanks INOD and CBC :)

Back from the docs with some antibiotics, although it is just a cold and not a chest infection. I've called in work and am waiting to hear back from my manager.

Did come home to another email though. I'm a winner in this competition:

Is there a third one on the way today?? Postie hasn't been yet ;)
