Only major drawback for me on the 'phone just now with a nice chatty call centre guy arranging switch to Yorkshire a/c was understanding his strong Glaswegian accent!!!
Paperwork on it's way & I see I may wait up to 60 days for £150 incentive once it's up & running.
There's no criteria for the length of time I must keep the a/c open, other than waiting for the £150 is there? I haven't missed any small print have I?Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -
Can't imagine so, being as the T&Cs extend to only 1/2 a page of text and 7 conditions only.SevenOfNine wrote: »I haven't missed any small print have I?

Just phoned up and tried to open two more Plus accounts. They were happy with my reasons of "Work expenses" and "Salary", with my Direct account being for Savings and my other plus account for bills. Both applications got referred, probably something to do with me applying for 10 accounts in the last 3-6 months. Whoopsie.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

Very likely. I got referred with 2 accounts and I phoned them 2 days later to get the underwriters' decision. They said the reason is because I have opened 3 accounts within a month. But I got approved for those 2 accounts.
You will only fail to learn if you do not learn from failing.

I've never been declined for any finance product, so I'd be very surprised if they declined me for Plus accounts. Even if they don't want me having more Plus accounts (for whatever reason), they should give me ReadyCash ones.inspireme247 wrote: »Very likely. Nice sarcasm, top of the class for you naughty Yorkshire Boy!
T&C's were so unusually SHORT for any banking product I've got so far..........hence the question (& my suspicious nature).Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -
If something isn't in the T&C's, you can argue for it. If they refuse to give you it, you could even take it to the Ombudsman or Small Claims Court etc.SevenOfNine wrote: »Nice sarcasm, top of the class for you naughty Yorkshire Boy!

These are not the account T&Cs, but the specific switching incentive T&Cs. They're not going to bury something in the account T&Cs about a switching incentive, because if they did, they'd have to re-write and re-issue those T&Cs twice...once before the offer...and once again after the offer had been withdrawn.SevenOfNine wrote: »T&C's were so unusually SHORT for any banking product I've got so far..........hence the question (& my suspicious nature).
Put simply, if it doesn't say it in the switching T&Cs...it isn't there.
On the subject of incentive T&Cs length, I don't think Halifax's are any longer. Nor Co-op's. First Direct's are even shorter than YB/CBs. Even at the longest, M&S's are only 2/3rds of a page of A4. So none should really require more than a quick second read...if indeed a second read at all.0 -

No - once you have the £150 thats it. They can't take it anyway from you. The incentive seems to be being paid between day 30 and day 40 after you switch/pay in the £1k but it can vary.
What you do with the account after then is a matter for you.0 -
out of interest...has any one been refused an account on the basis they have opened too many?
second question, would people still have opened this account if the incentive was only £100 due to the rigmarole?0
