Also so many accounts in a short period shows up on CRA report. How will that effect the credit score?
Additionally, when opening more than one account during the same phone call there's only the one CRA search made...even for existing customers.0 -

This is because for branch applications for additional accounts (any number of...within reason!), a CRA search is not undertaken (as I was informed by branch, and witnessed on screen during keying operation).

I wasn't a customer of YB until my first account opening, (Direct), 24-11-14 in branch, 2nd was also in branch 9 days after,(Plus), others, (1 YB, 2 CB), all done on different dates over phone, I seem to recollect re the last one being told credit search not necessary because I had recently opened accounts with them.

Has anyone had their switching incentive after errors caused by Yorkshire bank / circumstances?
My switch was delayed because forms got lost and then I was given the wrong info by a member of the call centre staff and new switching forms had to be sent.
All through the process I was assured that I would still get my £150 but it hasn't arrived.
It's not very late.....
just wondering/hoping really

Just out of interest in terms of opening two or more accounts with them:
What are examples of acceptable reasons for needing a second (or fourth) CB/YB current account – bar the £150 incentive?
Do they ask you for your customer number/account number for your first account – presumably that speeds up any credit check as you are already with them
Is it easier/quicker to open a second account if its with the same bank (e.g. two Yorkshires rather than one of each) – or haven’t people noticed any difference?
If you get 'referred' - is this sorted out quickly?
Would opening in a branch be easier – so you can argue you want a branch account and a postal one?
From what I can see it depends on the call centre person you speak to – but would welcome views! My first 2 were in branch, (YB), 9 days apart, both took about 25 minutes.
Third was on phone, (CB), about 25 minutes.
Fourth on phone, (CB), about 2 weeks later, about 25 minutes.
Fifth on phone, (YB), day after fourth, about 25 minutes.
I gave them the account numbers but the time did not seem to be any quicker.
Branch is quicker re opening and switching account as it is opened there and then, sort code and acc number given to you and the switch date can be given as well meaning switch date can be a week later, on phone you need to wait for the forms to arrive then return them, all taking time re switch date.
I have never been "referred".
.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

Its been over 5 weeks now since I met the criteria - switch completed and £1k paid in - and I have still not had the £150!
They have sixty days in which to pay - there really is no logic as others who simply paid in £1k and took it out the next day (clearly not intending to use it as their main account or in any way at all) who switched later than me have had the £150?0 -

It's rather confusing! I've had mine set up for a month, nothing yet. I've only had £12 sitting in the account just to pay out Tesco Savings DD's.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. You might think they have a system - paying out in a logical date order based on when you meet the criteria?
So this week all these people switched and have also paid in their £1k - so meet the criteria. So lets preset the payments of £150k to go into their account in say 3 weeks time? Why do some meeting the criteria get paid in 2 or 3 weeks while others are still waiting 5-6 weeks later?
Or am I asking too much?:D Because its possible if they aren't keeping proper records the £150 payments for some may not happen - unless you follow up.0
