Anyhow, I have searched the forum regarding security tokens. What are they, and do I need one. Am I able to transfer 1000.00 in without it? If not, how do I get one? Tia.

You can transfer £1k in, but if you want to transfer it out again, you'll need the security token or be restricted to £300 per transaction

  • So I've read the terms and conditions. I currently have a YB account with not much money in, so I ask.... can still get this offer? I have a few different accounts I could close so may do it tomorrow.

If you've read the terms and conditions you'll know.

I have just switched another account to YB Plus, I asked the lady I was talking to about how many of these accounts can be opened and qualify for the switch incentive, she told me there was no limit as long as the reasons given for opening the account where valid reasons that they accepted. So there are no account opening limits, you just may need to be creative with your reasons.

    .

This bank must be desperate for new account openings and will pay any price!

When you are a parent company who wants to sell off banks you own but no longer want it helps if they have lots of customers!

The answer to your question is yes.
    I was trying to clarify
Clarify what? Whether you could get it, or how you'd go about getting it? The first is easy...it's yes, as I said above. However, only you will know 'how', having read the T&Cs...so what are your thoughts so far, having read the T&Cs?

That sounds as if you know how to get dummy accounts - what's the problem then?
Haha, I realised that as soon as I posted it. I've opened probably about 8 accounts in the last 3 months, just didn't really want to risk opening another to be declined for another Yorkshire, or to not get the switch incentive for it.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.

Still no sign of any incentive payment into my account, which was opened mid-Dec, switch completed 5th Jan, and £1000 deposited the next day.

Contrast that with Halifax, where I opened an account on 14th Jan, completed the switch on the 22nd, and had the incentive paid today (the 23rd). And at no point did I have to use the phone or fill in forms for posting. And if they pay up via quidco, it'll almost be the same amount as Clydesdale too for a tiny fraction of the hassle.
