Yorkshire & Clydesdale Banks offering £150 for switching

Overall the process for setting up the bank account wasn't as bad as some have experienced.
30 min phonecall.
Sign and return account mandate + switch forms.
Wait for them to process it.
Receive debit card.
Register for online banking.
Request security token.
I think what people have to take into account is with this offer they are dealings with applications way beyond what they normally would, there is probably not the staff or systems in place to deal with it effectively.
You and some others have been lucky - others of us not so, I could understand the explanation in terms of delay to answer the call, possibly even delay sending information out (though three weeks? seriously? More than two months to transfer a bank account with a supposed 7 day process?), but it does not explain the inept process they have set up (for genuine applicants, never mind people like us trying to get the bonus), packs being repeatedly sent out with missing information/forms/envelope and forms not prefilled. They have designed a long winded application process that relies on staff reading out all information that can be sent to the customer or even better could easily be completed online with a simple webform (if they don't have the system set up to actually process the application remotely like Lloyds etc, there are free secure webforms that drop the information into a spreadsheet - heck even Google can provide that functionality for you for free!).
They would be much better getting customers to complete the information online and deploy the staff resources to checking/approving/follow up calls if required/sending out the information, than spending 30 minutes per call filling in a form and having to deal with customers phoning a number of times to get information that is missing from the packs. This process does not make business sense, never mind the impression given to customers that they appear keen to attract.0 -
One of my CB accounts paid the £150 today, switch was completed on 19/12/140

Received forms within 2 days for 2nd YB account, and sent off todayI Hate Jobsworths!!!0

I have just switched another account to YB Plus, I asked the lady I was talking to about how many of these accounts can be opened and qualify for the switch incentive, she told me there was no limit as long as the reasons given for opening the account where valid reasons that they accepted. So there are no account opening limits, you just may need to be creative with your reasons.
.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0 -

Thanks. I could have googled it if I had thought to, but I find the advice far better from the guys on this forum.
To order your security token (or whatever it is called) log in to your internet banking, go to administration and by the left you would see the option of ordering the token. Once you receive this (mine took 2 days), log back into the same section of your internet banking and set it up by clicking "set up token" then follow the on screen instructions.
Ps: this assumes that you have set up your internet banking in the past.
Hope this helps.£47605.33 outstanding in C.C (£8000 Interest free till January 2025)0 -

That sounds as if you know how to get dummy accounts - what's the problem then?0 -

Still waiting for my YB to pay the £150, switch date was 16/12. All seems a bit random!0 -
got the switch forms for the 2nd CB a/c, so OK. Only just applied for the 2nd YB a/c (very officious guy !) and got 'referred'. Pretty sure T&Cs say "switch forms to be sined before 28/2". He says I will be Ok as I applied before 28/2. We will see.
Still no 2 x £150 from initial openings0 -
