I think it is very reasonable to assume they mean the Current Account Switch Agreement, which is mentioned in the clause preceding the mention of "the agreement".

You mean the agreement they didn't include in the pack they sent me?:D:rotfl:

    Hi all,

Which way is fast by phone or visiting branch to open an account

I have gone to bank because it is near to my place. I took appointment two days before and got the job done in less than 40 min including the switch. I got my switch date by 7th Dec. I was told after that date once I deposit or transfer £1000 I will get my incentive.

    Thank You All

Quite clear that it's 21 days of the date you sign "the agreement".

It doesn't state whether this is an agreement to have a current account, or the agreement to switch. I believe in the event that there is an ambiguity, generally a judge would find against the party that drafted the terms and conditions.

I haven't signed anything yet ! My account was opened over the phone last week and I've only just got the 3 sets of forms through the post. I was planning on hanging on for a couple of weeks before I sign and send them back - they told me I could do that if I wanted to ! Seeing as the 'sweetener' is based on you switching accounts I can't see how they can argue that the 21 days is from the switch signing. I can't sign and send them back right now as I've not got my M&S bonus through yet. To me, its clear that I can delay up to February if I want to - but I am probably wrong !

    Which one suits you best?
  • I got 2 packs sent to me today with the same information on both...so I signed 4 forms and sent them back.
  • Like others am waiting for the M&S voucher before I try and switch their current account to ( probably ) Yorkshire.
After reading about some of the probs etc opening by phone just wondering if its easier to book an appt in branch and open in one go.
Mind you this could close soon I suppose so might miss out.

    I've just got my M&S voucher :D.

Even though i booked a phone appointment for tomorrow they still rang me tonight, so now i've opened my ybank and they are sending stuff through the post for me to sign. I ended up going for the Current Account Plus so i dont need to transfer money into it after the incentive payment.
