What was the freepost number given to you? I assume they'll both be OK and the docs will reach the Direct Accounts, Clydebank Business Park,... address.

Got my application pack with prepaid envelope. All ready to be sent tomorrow.

It had my new sort code and account number on mandate form. Will transfer my M&S account over. Had the £125 giftcard last month.

Same here, no switch date was discussed on the phone.

Well after being referred to the underwriters and waiting for a response, I finally got a call to say I had to take photo ID (passport or driving licence) into a branch. Nothing else was required, just the photo ID.

I wonder if they will have a 'rogues gallery wall' somewhere full of pics of people suspected of only opening accounts for the incentives.

    I feel your pain.

However I was asked to bring photo ID and proof of address to a branch - so I would take proof of address just in case. Normally they want both in my experience if its underwriting/money laundering check related.

Also do ring up in advance to book an appointment with a personal banking advisor at the branch - only they can access your application online. The normal reception staff and cashiers cannot - I had to go back a second time as no banking advisor was available for at least 2 hours when I went in first time and no one bar them could assist.

Also make sure you ask the branch person for your customer number on the system - that will make it easier for you to track progress until you get a sort code and account no.

Compared to many other banks its really hard work - no automation, no progress emails, no text messaging to update you like TSB or Tesco for example.

Waiting for switch documents and sign the application.

Was given a sort code and account number on the phone when I applied just a waiting game now
