I've had 2 phone conversations with 2 different Yorkshire/Clydesdale bank advisers.

Both advisers stated the the switch date must be within 21 days of the account being opened. I did try and explain to them that I thought it was within 21 days of signing the switch agreement papers, they went to check with their 'senior' who advised that I was wrong.

    Oh well...

My letter said to retain the Customer Mandate Account Details, the Current Account Switch Guarantee and Switch Guide. plus other literature.
And to send in Switch Service Form, Switch agreement, and account Closure instructions.
Posted now to avoid the Xmas deliveries.

Off the top of my head... I think I sent 8 forms in total.

1 for the Customer Mandate, 3 for the switch service form, 2 for the agreement and 2 for the account closure.

Do you mean 'pages'? They provide 2 copies of the 3 forms - one for you to retain and one to send.

Maybe they are just harvesting details to sell on to the buyer.
    Could be Branson.

Yes, pages. I kept the second copies for my records.

I got no second copies at all - just one of each except for the switch form I never got.

So someone has got 8 forms via the post - and I only have received 3??!!

Its crazy they are imposing a 21 day deadline (is this working days or days) for a switch when they aren't even sending out the right paperwork. I have potentially lost 8 days already!

I have since rung them and asked for the missing form. They cannot email it so it will have to be sent in the post. The account opening team have gone home however and don't work Saturdays so it won't be dealt with until Monday.

I will just send back what I have and see.

    I got a total of 20 pages.

    My partner got 28 pages.

They must be inundated with applications.

    QUALIFYING CRITERIA FOR THIS OFFER
    2. To qualify, you must:
    (a) complete a full current account switch to one of our Personal or Private current accounts using the Current
Account Switch Service, which includes the completion of an Account Closure Instruction for your Old Account:
    (i) the Current Account Switch Agreement must be signed during the period from 17th November 2014 to
    28th February 2015; and
(ii) the full switch must be completed within 21 days of the date you sign the agreement, and
    (b) credit your account with at least £1000 in a single payment within 31 calendar days following your switch
    completion date, provided:
    (i) this does not include any balance transferred as part of your full switch; and
(ii) this does not include any internal transfers from any other Clydesdale Bank or Yorkshire Bank Personal or
Private current account you hold with us (either in your sole name or held jointly with someone else).

Quite clear that it's 21 days of the date you sign "the agreement".

It doesn't state whether this is an agreement to have a current account, or the agreement to switch. I believe in the event that there is an ambiguity, generally a judge would find against the party that drafted the terms and conditions.

Finally got round yesterday making the call for the £150 incentive. Had to wait over 20 mins to get through so obviously very busy. Not quite like other current ac applications but hey ho! OH did his today with same waiting time and different questions to me. I had to give NI no hubbie didn't. They do not ask about income from other investments like all the other current ac applications I have done. Phone call took about 20 mins so now just have to sit back and wait for all the paperwork and our £150!

I think it is very reasonable to assume they mean the Current Account Switch Agreement, which is mentioned in the clause preceding the mention of "the agreement".
