Yorkshire & Clydesdale Banks offering £150 for switching

I had a call from the advisor of my local branch who said she had asked head office if it was OK to open a Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank Direct accounts and be eligible for the £150 and the interest on both accounts, she said they had said it was OK.
So I applied for the Clydesdale account, after completing the long application I was asked the final question,” do you have any current accounts with Clydesdale or Yorkshire Banks”, I said I had opened a YB one yesterday, he said it wasn’t possible to open two direct accounts and that Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks are under the same umbrella as one company and it has never been the case that two accounts could be opened in sole names.
He is checking back with the local advisor to ascertain what has happened and is to get back to me, but it does seem to be the case that no one is going to get two accounts in sole names to double up on the incentive switch.
I have just been called back, confirmation that YB and Clydesdale are same company and two Direct accounts cannot be set up in sole names, however two current accounts can be set up, so I have now opened a Plus account and am told this allows the £150 for switching but pays no interest, so alongside my Direct account I should receive 2 x £150 within 60 days of depositing the £1000.00 into each account.
I was also told that some alterations have been made to the account T&C's that are already in place and will be online in the next few days, these are: -
The £1000.00 does not have to be a single payment but can be in multiples, and if the account being switched from has a balance this will be accepted as part/full payment re the £1000.00 within 31 days, i.e. if the account being switched from has a balance of £1000.00 or more, then no other payment is required to satisfy the switching incentive.

Well my saga trying to open an account continues.
I went into a branch today to provide proof of address and photo ID – as requested by the call centre at Head Office.
Despite being told by phone it was approved when I originally applied the branch could find absolutely no record of my application on their systems – even though I have two entries listed on my online credit reference report confirming Clydesdale had done credit checks. I was told – we have different systems in branches?!
They also asked me for the name of the call centre staff member who had processed it – and that didn’t help either as he has a common Scottish name. This being the staff member who left me a voicemail message asking me to ring a number that was unobtainable.
They couldn’t fit me in for an appointment – so I have to go back later in the week and they will open it through the branch. Wish I had done that originally! What a performance - clearly I must be doing something wrong.0 -
I'm hoping to complete the application over the phone, all other banks have found me through the electoral register so hopefully this one will be the same!
I am right in thinking all I need to do is
-Switch an old current account, no DD's or SO's
-Credit the account with £1k(I will withdraw it immediately)
-Await the £150 reward?
Job done?
Any preference on Yorkshire or Clydesdale?
Which account should I chose? I'll literally open it and keep it until another offer comes up and use it again!
Thanks

Yorkshire if you're in England, Clydesdale if you're in Scotland.
Yup, just switch an account and credit it with £1k.For those like me that have to pay for Freephone calls I got through on 0141-951-7315 and account all setup
Skype is my go-to for this, or one of the numbers Derrek added.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0 -

Never mind about opening two accounts I'd be pleased to get the first one open! I applied immediately I saw it last Wednesday to Yorkshire went through a grilling and was told at the end it would be opened and to await documents in the post which have not yet arrived.
I'm now tempted to try opening one with Clydesdale in case the Yorkshire documents never arrive and the account is pulled.0 -
Well after being referred to the underwriters and waiting for a response, I finally got a call to say I had to take photo ID (passport or driving licence) into a branch. Nothing else was required, just the photo ID.
I wonder if they will have a 'rogues gallery wall' somewhere full of pics of people suspected of only opening accounts for the incentives.
I do genuinely want to switch an account though, it's not *just* for the money although admittedly the incentive is what made me opt for this outfit.
Very insistent on clarifying what will be getting paid in direct. Been asked to confirm 4 times so far, all by the same person.Herman - MP for all!0
