i've done a few switches now, this one was more effort than all 4 others combined.
It should have been a little easier once they launched the online account application? Are the recent switches still taking as long, with reams of paper being sent out?

At least you only went through it once. Spare a thought for those of us who were lucky enough to get in early before they limited it to one payment per customer. :D

I have just switched today online, took 4 minutes in total to run through the questions and be accepted and an extra 2 minutes to set up security questions for online banking.

I will keep the thread updated as to what paperwork comes through the post and how long it all takes.

  • Is it too late to apply for this online, i read that the deadline is the 11:59pm 30th but if i apply today will it still be valid for the incentive reward?

    Regards.

All you'll get on here is opinion(s). What's your opinion, based on your reading of the incentive T&Cs?

If you don't think the T&C are clear or are open to interpretation then best thing is to call the bank and get them to confirm and ask them to follow up with email / give you reference number for call / or check call is recorded in case there is any issue later.

If you are able to sign a switching form this weekend and take it to a branch on Monday then POSSIBLY you might qualify. Otherwise, I reckon, no chance.

You can initiate the switch as part of the application process, so it should be valid as long as your application is accepted and account opened straight away.

How will this work. My mother opened up an account and she has speech difficulties - unable to call them up and no near branches. She sent a message via secure messaging and received a reply Accounts opening team has sent an switching pack. This was 2 weeks ago still not received. She chased up and they replied back she will have to wait until 27th Nov which was on Friday.

Obviously she will miss the deadline now. Can this be submitted as a complaint?

She applied for the account online, this was referred and then accepted. She logged in and attempted switch online. Came up and error message everytime she has done it. She has a screen print of it aswel.
