Has anyone had a problem with Clydesdale "losing" the switch papers? OH tried for 3 accounts with them. First one all went smoothly and incentive was paid this week. The third one they never sent him the switch pack despite him opening the account mid february and repeatedly asking for the forms to be sent to him. My own switch failed because they spelled my name incorrectly so the account details of each didnt match.

Now today he has called them up to enquire why the second account is taking so long to open (he posted the forms back on the 18th Feb) to be told be told by clydesdale that they have never received the forms

We can't have been the only ones for these problems to have happened to them? Has anyone else had a problem with them claiming they have not received the forms?

Yes. Had to send them the forms back 3 times for one account for them actually to get them...

    Three questions about switching...

    1. They say they should be your main account. I assume there's no way for them to know that?
    2. How old does an account have to be to be switched? I don't have a spare account, but if I can open one and then switch it over to them (and set up a couple of Tesco Direct Debits to meet that requirement) sharpish then that'd be good. If so, any suggestions for an account to setup to switch?
    3. How are people doing multiple switches? Multiple accounts and Yorkshire just don't mind?

    Thanks!

    1. They only say that in marketing material. It's the terms and conditions that matter and they say you just need a bank account with another bank (as obviously there's no definition of 'main account' - the way they're now trying to get you to switch a 'main account' is to get you to switch 2 direct debits).

    2. As long as an account is fully open it can be switched straight away (but if it comes with an activated debit card the card number and expiry is needed in order for the switch to be accepted). I used RBS/Natwest for donor accounts.

    3. The new switch incentive terms and conditions (as of 9th March) now say you only qualify for one switch incentive so one person can't now switch multiple accounts to get multiple £150s (the old pre-March T&Cs had no such restriction and you could open multiple new accounts and switch into those to qualify again).

Do you think we have any chance now that it's 30 days past the deadline? We obviously would have done it sooner but had no idea they 'hadn't' received the forms.

Weird bank having problems sending and receiving post.

Weird bank having problems sending and receiving post.

After hearing nothing about my switch I kept ringing them to monitor whether they had received the rest of my paperwork as when they receive it they log it on the system. If they hadn't received it after a week I got them to send a new pack out.

If they haven't received it then they haven't received it so there's nothing really that can be done. It's ridiculous when you have to 'cross your fingers' that they receive the paperwork (which is what I had to do when I sent some on 28th February!)

We were concentrating so much on begging them to send out the 3rds paperwork, which they never bothered, so it never crossed our mind they'd claimed to not have received the 2nds paperwork. Tis a pity. Like I've said before I admire anyone who's received more than one incentive because having to deal with this bank has made me want to tear my hair out and I'm only in my 20s:rotfl: They're useless.

just rec'd a 'courtesy' call from YB to ask if everything Ok and when I would be crediting my salary and direct debits..... She only seemed to know about my first (of 5) YB a/c's and nothing about the 5 CB ones. Must admit I waffled a bit !
