Ok so I have an old Barclays savings account with pennies in it. Will this work for a switch here or anywhere else?

No debit card on it but a sort code and acc number.

You need to use the Current Account Switching Service (CASS) to qualify for the bonus.

Went into Preston YB today and they said the incentive offer is definately being withdrawn after 28 Feb and will not be extended into March. As they do not open Saturday, managed to get an appointment in branch tomorrow.

So can you apply for both the Yorkshire and Clydesdale account at the same time and get two lots of switching (£150) bonus or not?

If not, can you get a switching bonus for opening more than one of the SAME current accounts with the same Bank?

Yes – but you can only have one current account direct (which pays 2% interest if you pay in £1k) in sole names. You can have as many Plus or readycash accounts you like – or they will let you open.

If the last post is correct – which contradicts the advice from the Scottish head office call centre staff (who are probably more up to speed than the Preston branch) – then you need to move quick as the offer ends Saturday.

Finally got round to phoning. Very quick and pleasant experience (2nd account). At the end of the call, cheekily asked for another Plus while I was on and no further questions were asked after confirming with the supervisor it was possible . Three accounts now underway :cool:.

Yes, opened two Plus and all fine.

Thanks for the info. So you reckon I could open multiple YB Ready cash accounts and get a switching bonus each time? Is that right..

P.S. Just received an email from Clydesdale saying that I cannot open an account with Clydesdale if you have one with Yorkshire...

What to do...

If I applied online today, will I definitely qualify for the £150 switching bonus each time I choose multiple Ready Cash Accounts?
