To those who had applications referred, what number are you calling to enquire about the decision?0

Don't rely on them calling you back, as they usually promise. They won't.
It's possible, though, that the process of accepting the account and sending out the paperwork is automatic once approval has been given.0 -

Last one for me totalling 5. I will believe the incentives when I see them!"It would be easier to find a packet of sliced hippopotamus in suitcase sauce" - Basil Fawlty0 -
Saw you live in Northern Ireland – not sure if you were also aware of the £125 switching incentive First Trust Bank (the AIB subsidiary) are offering at present.

Its being discussed on this forum too.

Seems they are giving short shrift to applicants from England – but you should hopefully have more luck although you may need to visit a branch to provide ID (the clever wheeze they use to weed out those from across the water)!
Thanks for this - I did notice it and may give it a go0 -
Finally got the call to say the first account had been approved. A bit odd though as I had a phonecall prior to that where the lady went through the whole application process again only for that to be referred too. I thought she was calling to tell me the decision but looks like the advisor yesterday misunderstood and thought I wanted a callback to apply. In any case, I'm going to try and open 2 more accounts and see if those get referred too.0

Does anyone know the definitive answer to this query?
Does there have to have been a debit card transaction on the donor account ? (for which a debit card number has been entered on the switch application form )
I have a couple of "virgin" donor accounts and don't know if I have to have transacted with the relevant debit cards0 -

You don't have to have used the debit cards, but if a debit card has been issued to the account, you have to put those details on the switch form.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0 -

As suspected (but really hoped otherwise), the 2 other accounts I opened just now got referred too. I really have no idea why mine got referred and my sisters' didn't. I assume it's to do with the amount of credit searches done on my account within the last 2 months. Oh wells. Hopefully they extend the offer so I'm able to make more.
EDIT: Does anyone know whether it would still get referred if I were to apply in the branch?0
