Quickest way by far is branch if you can get there.
How do they react in branch when they see you already have 9 current accounts? Is there an uncomfortable silence when they ask what you need the 10th one for - because some people opening in branch have been given quite a drilling?
I quite liked the earlier suggestion by a poster that they needed a new current account because they have to repair their roof.
I am about to buy a new washing machine - can I claim I need a separate current account to budget for buying that?:D Any other ideas?0 -

I tried the 'saving for...' but as soon as I said it (with two different advisers) they said we can only offer you a savings account for that purpose!0 -
What day should my switch day be? I rang on 7.2.15, received the paperwork today. On the phone call we haven't discuss the switch day.
Should it be 7 days after I signed the paperwork so the 18th??? Or 7 days after they should receives my paperwork
Also is envelope provided free post? Should I send it recorded so they can't pretend they didn't get it before the deadline?
Thanks0 -
I put a date of the switch to 2 weeks after I posted it...it gives them ample time to complete it.0

Since its a 7 working day process, there's little point in selecting a date they can't possibly meet. You could second guess when they'll get it, but you won't be able to second guess when they'll start the ball rolling. Even when I gave them plenty of time at the back end of December for a 5th Jan switch date they still took until the 9th to complete.Should it be 7 days after I signed the paperwork so the 18th??? Or 7 days after they should receives my paperwork
They don't always send envelopes!...but yes, those I did get were freepost. Also is envelope provided free post?
I wouldn't bother personally. There has to be a little trust, and since they're rumoured to be extending the offer you might even be wasting your money.Should I send it recorded so they can't pretend they didn't get it before the deadline?0 -
I sent paperwork 11th jan for my ac . No sign off switch happening. So last week so gave them a call. They have not received it  So they are sending another switch form etc.3.55kw 2 systems 2.3 se 1.25 sw installed may 2011 and oct 2011..

Haha, I felt the same. I do quite like TSB, so I only opened 2 donor accountsYorkshireBoy wrote: »They've been very quick for me too. I didn't (really) like doing it though. An incentive tart with a heart...that's me!
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0 -

You could've asked them if their saving accounts have dd facility and debit card. That's what I asked when they offered saving accounts instead of current. I said I really need these facilities

Don't bother with a date, just put A S A P, it does work.
