Yorkshire & Clydesdale Banks offering £150 for switching

I tried the 'saving for...' but as soon as I said it (with two different advisers) they said we can only offer you a savings account for that purpose!
Perhaps you could say that you need to have a separate debit card* so that paying for things comes out of that account - anyway, on my call we had established upfront that I was in this for the incentive.
Don't think I have the balls (literally, actually) to open more accounts, unless I can think up something more plausible. Perhaps my bathroom needs an upgrade?
PS- Yorkshire Boy - very naughty, and amusing. Gave a rather old lady a huge laugh.
PPS: apologies, just saw alexlv's reply which covers the dd and debit card point.0 -
I sent paperwork 11th jan for my ac . No sign off switch happening. So last week so gave them a call. They have not received it  So they are sending another switch form etc.
Complaint and Compensation time... even more money for you£47605.33 outstanding in C.C (£8000 Interest free till January 2025)0 -

Just be aware that they have one of saving account which comes with Debit card. So it is best to say that you really need dd facility.0 -

I really don't get this.
If they've received the paperwork and still haven't commenced the switch, then I'd understand.
But if they claim that they haven't received the paperwork, then they haven't received the paperwork.:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

YB - When I posted, the incentive terms excluded me since I already had an account... opened back when they offered 4%. I got around to it for myself when they changed their minds!0 -
Payments received today for accounts that completed the switch on January 6th.0

Spoke to the Underwriting Team about my 'referral' - they had no idea why it had been referred either!
It's extremely difficult to separate the words 'Yorkshire' 'Bank' and 'clowns' in my head.0 -

Even though I shouldn’t I am starting to feel a tiny bit guilty about my transfer accounts.
Since I opened one particular switch account three weeks ago I have had loads of emails and text updates – right the way through process from opening, telling me my debit card/PIN had been dispatched as well as confirmation texts when I make payments or set up standing orders. I even had a text from them earlier this week saying sorry you are switching away – so clearly that switch is going ahead.
In all the time I have been a YB customer – had a savings account before I became a current account customer as well - I have never had a single email or a text from them. It really is a bit like going back in time!0 -
Whoops, I just opened another one lol. Very nice lady called Laura went through everything. Switching an account I've actually had for years but don't use much.
That's my last one (I think) :cool:I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Anyone else having an issue with their systems being down a lot?0
