My only complaint so far is that none of the sellers of plants I am interested in offers this service. I emailed one to ask whether they would consider it: no reply.

If I must get it posted to my address, I might try using a seller from Eastern Europe in revenge!
Plants/Seeds/BulbsFertiliser/Soil Improvement are all excluded from Click&Collect

Click and Collect is a winning combination of internet prices with the convenience of collecting next day

All companies are tuning into this and I think it's Argos last stand which may turn their business around

    .

It's rarely next day collection. in my own case I ship the next day using 2nd class post so around 3-4 days for normal sales, add Argos into that and you can easily add a further day for their process. .

Sent an item by Recorded Delivery on 22 Dec to an Argos store.
Received an email from buyer today and had to give them the unique code as they had not received any email with code.
If package not there what happens next, as I have a signed for conformation of delivery to the Argos store.

I think that poster is another who has been confused by the term click and collect.... when talking about eBay Argos Click and Collect it goes through the postal system direct to Argos store when ordered not there to be reserved and collected like Argos Click and Collect.

What that poster describes sounds like the latter to me.

If I was the seller i'd contact the Argos store direct and sort this out.

.. and in my case, a defect.

The easiest thing is to phone the eBay store you had it delivered to, give them your name and ask them to check for your parcel. If they find it get them to scan it and that generates your pick up code immediately.

Call eBay, they can see when item arrived at The Argos store and *may* consider removing the defect star.

Will the "pick up code" be the same as the code I was given and written as part of the Paypal delivery address?

    no,

As explained in an earlier post the sellers get a code that stars EcP that goes on the parcel. When the parcel arrives and gets scanned then Argos generate a new code for collection.

When I phoned Argos on behalf of one of my buyers they located the packet using the buyers name, scanned it and immediately generated an email with the collection code for the buyer.

  • I don't understand why anyone would expect to be able to collect the next day. I had to wait more than one week for one item, and was happy about that. Some do arrive very quickly though. I always check the delivery date predictions on my eBay list of buys.
