Argos click and collect - working for you?

Soolin - I messaged the ebay seller and she said I had to call ebay as she had sent it out. I called ebay and they said to call Argos. I called Argos and they transferred me to the Ebay department that deals with click and collect. He was very efficient and sorted it directly with Argos and rang me back. It was the seller who had not got a code for click and collect so it was 'lost' but at my local Argos. Bit fiddly to be honest but ok in the end.

Interesting the ID thing, I have used click and collect 4 times now and have needed ID at my local Argos, but 1 parcel at another Argos and they didnt ask for it (I had it ready). Ebay click and collect on the phone told me I needed ID, so maybe it depends.

that's interesting , I wondered what other sellers did. I don't really understand why your seller didn't call Argos direct on your behalf, but perhaps they didn't realise that they could.I actually spoke direct to the store I sent it to and they were really helpful.
The seller incidentally never gets the collection code, we get a standard code to identify the parcel which we add to the address, the collection code is automatically generated when Argos scan it and is not given to the seller- otherwise I can see a scam happening right there.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. have you found a dedicated number for eBay click and collect? As far as I was aware this is just something that CS try to deal with- quite badly if one of my buyers is to be believed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. My only complaint so far is that none of the sellers of plants I am interested in offers this service. I emailed one to ask whether they would consider it: no reply.
If I must get it posted to my address, I might try using a seller from Eastern Europe in revenge!Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

I've found it causes confusion. On Christmas Eve I had someone message about a 'click and collect' saying they've be in town on a last minute present buying thing, and wanted to pay for it and collect it then. They were getting very irate too be honest, and insisted they always get items from Argos and collect same day.
I couldn'nt be doing with the agro, and blocked them.0 -

Can't say I blame them. If the buyer decides the Argos queue is too long and gives up, the seller gets a dead plant back in 10 days time, and the lose the postage. I don't think this is suitable at all for 'short life' products.0 -
Argos click and collect - working for you?
Click and Collect is a winning combination of internet prices with the convenience of collecting next day
All companies are tuning into this and I think it's Argos last stand which may turn their business around
.When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
Yes I think there seems to be lots of (hopefully) teething problems with click and collect. I was transferred to the department within the Argos team, on the second or maybe third! phone call. I did ask if there was a direct number, but no. Hmm seller probably should have chased it up, it wasnt easy. it has put me off using it as a buyer, and I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole as a seller.Remember when you judge someone, it does not define them ... JethroUk - i have only used it 4 times, but I have had to wait a few days all times, not the next day. Perhaps it depends on where you live in the UK? Cities tend to get faster deliveries than us country folk?Remember when you judge someone, it does not define them ... You define yourself :j0
