  • Shawn mentioned that it created leverage in the contracts. It's given them funds in one way or another even if it's something as vague as getting more paid channels on board. At any rate saying that consumers demanded that other consumers would be forced to use a 0 purchase credit cards is miss stating the fact.

i used noddle.co.uk to get my credit file. Its free for life (no charges) but wonder what the catch is - although am not sure it gives you all the details which other agencies may hold. But its good

Did you find that you got more/new marketing calls/junk after you signed up with them?

That was my concern about using them.

The "catch" with Noddle is that they do not provide continuous updates, you only get one fresh credit report a month; they (CallCredit) are the smaller of the agencies so their data isn't as strong as other agencies, your accounts might not all be listed; and they have a few money-making services on the site, for instance they show credit products that may be relevant to you and would receive commission if you sign up (similar to some links on this site).

I have not noticed any increase in spam, cold calling or anything of that nature from using Noddle. They are, as credit report companies go :D, a reputable company so I don't think there's anything to worry about there.
This is everybody's fault but mine.

    Question for the Equifax users...

I've been a victim of ID Theft and have taken the desired steps so far to report it as can be seen in this thread here

I've done a quick check on Noddle as Equifax take around 24-48 hrs to call me back and authorise my application etc. I have got confirmation of the Cifas very.co.uk had applied through Noddle but there is very minimum information on there.

Will Equifax provide me with a much more in depth look at the searches and credit open etc? The Very account fraudulently opened was not on Noddle for example but the Cifas they applied showed for example.

How are they to deal with also when it comes to getting the necessary amendments in place as I suspect there may be a good few searches and possible accounts there due to this ID theft?

Thanks for any advice given :)
  • You may enroll your credit card as online banking and you may request for pin and otp for safe transactions. Nowadays majority of the application is via online.
  • I cannot see that this has been covered before. I have just been refused a Capital One Credit Card on the basis that my credit score is not high enough. Now I have just retired from full time work, have a good pension, never paid interest on a credit card, own two properties. What could have counted against me. Is retired a dirty word or always paying off my credit card is that a sin.

    Thanks
