How to obtain credit reports

I hope i can help a lot of people because i have just come out of an IVA and actually dealing with all three credit agencies, so I feel like an expert.... I have not read all the threads only about two pages backwards....firstly when you get turn down for credit, its not straight to the credit files for answers, do remember its determined what you put on the application form plus information from CRA's....
the good thing is within the letter, so pay attention to the letter they will give you an indication as to why you have been turned down.
If it is your credit files they will say so...SIMPLE....so there is no point checking if they don't say so. Of course they will not give you the exact reason....
ok the credit ref agencies...best way to get exact information is the £2 way either paper or online......experian and equifax and callcredit dont touch your credit agreement information, no point having ago at them, they can work on your behalf but its the information the creditors give them about your account is the problem and they do updates around once a month ....also defaults accounts does not always get updated monthly is one of the reason the information is correct, best thing to do as peeple advice is to keep checking them, just look at CRA's as web broswer that all creditors can see your info ...simple
I have had to contact nearly all my creditors regarding info, they are lazy when it comes to inputing new information but if you send them proof and threaten them with data protection law, they will assist you because they know you can report them, and when dealing with creditors get to the right department, some people call it data controllers, well they have different names depending on the company
HOPE THIS HELPS0 -
meant to say one of the reason the defaults information is incorrect.0

Why are CreditExpert looking to charge me £14.99 a month to access my credit report?
All I want to do is have a quick squint at my current status.....0 -
I cancelled my CreditExpert membership and it was 'actually' cancelled yesterday (so I can no longer access it). In their email it said all I had to do to re-activate my membership was login and they would do it automatically (how nice of them). Later that day I received an Alert email and that there had been a change to my credit report and all I had to do was log into to see it.
Do they think i'm stupid? I think this is an easy way for them to sign be back up. As soon as I log in the membership would be reactivated.

Here's the link
http://www.callcredit.plc.uk/corporate_scripts/consumer_creditreport.asp
It was under consumer services, "my callcredit", "Alternatively, if you would like to receive a copy of your statutory creditfile by post, please click here"
MAny thanks for this helpful link.:)0 -
Hi
I recently checked noodle credit file for my OH as he had applied for his 1st credit card ever (doesnt have any credit other than a previous guy at work selling tools on weekly credit all paid well and settled years ago). He was refused the credit card on grounds something came upagainst him on credit file.
Noodle to his horror have listed 3 small but bad payment history accounts dated back to and taken out 2011 these are infact accounts our son had taken out in sons name (they share the same name) but on noodle they have listed as OH date of birth.
Having an Experian credit report in hand from July 2012 for OH there is no mention of any of these 3 accounts or payment histories or searches and an excellent report with there 966 score.
Our son hasnt used his fathers details only his own so how do i go about getting this all cleaned up and off OH credit file and back on sons. Also is it not illegal for them to change D.O.B details in the way they have to discredit the OH for something he knows nothing about ?

Hi
does anyone have an up to date link for experian so i can order the £2 report from them??
I have tried the website and dont seem to be able to get past applying for the free trial - which i dont want.
I have searched the forum but old links dont seem to be working either for me.
I need this as i had a telephone call with barclays as they are reducing my limit due to experian telling them i have missed 2 payments on my file in the last 12 months to someone??? I have no idea who to as i pay DD on everything and have done for several years, so i dont forget and having checked noddle - all my records are green and state accounts up to date wih no late payments except 1 in 2010. so i want to know what info experian hold as it must be wrong.Updating .................................................
