  • Actually, if I want to know the credit cards reports by using phone or online. I call on a number to know the reports. then, I go through a simple verification process and they mailed the reports on my mail.
Sometimes, I refer my reports on the sites. there are various sites for the credit cards reports, so I use any sites to know my reports.

We thought we had fixed it 6 months ago, but it's come to light again... so obviously they aren't putting their records straight.

If experian have corrected something but it's come back, then it sounds like it's come back again from the lender.
Experian are obliged to put what lenders report, so it sounds like you need to take this up with the relevant lender, otherwise they will just keep on reporting it to the CRAs.

    Waste of money.
Does not relate to anything meaningful, like any relation to how anyone lending you money would consider your report.

Well that site is free. I wouldn't pay monthly just to keep checking on the report. It probably won't change that often.

    Interseting question here,

I had 2 credit cards which I used and then paid off, I then asked for a copy of my CR. The intial one shown the 2 cards with the available balances, so I closed both cards and the following time which was approx 8 mths later I requested the information and they had gone!

Now I was under the impression that accounts remained on your CR for a period of 5 years!!!!

I would like to know these answers too. I got a copy of my report yesterday and saw my old car HP on there. It has been settled and still shows. Can I get it removed and if so how? Would it make any difference whether it doesnt show or shows as settled?

    thanks :)

Does anyone know if with Experian (and others too probably) when an account is closed and shown as settled, is the Credit Limit figure on that account counted as available credit?
I would have thought that since the account was closed, there would be no available credit for that account therefore it would not be counted and maybe shown as zero, however on mine it still shows the full credit limits for each closed account.

Sorry this was the other question I wanted to quote as well as it seems to tie in again with my question sort of ^^^^^^

Maybe I am not getting it, but if you want your credit report, you sign up for a free trial, get your report, and then cancel - and no money is spent?

that's the theory. In our experience though, we found mistakes. They took a long time to rectify as we'd cancelled Experian (I think they may give priority to those who pay?) and of course then it was difficult to check if it was ok, other than them eventually emailing that the errors had been rectified, as don't think you can take out 2 free trials to check.
I found and find it all rather sinister.
