rich, your probably seen as non profitable. they know you spread your balances i.e. debt to various cards and have no late payments if one or two, thats sadly why. your a no go zone for them as they want the "i forgot to pay my card of this month" public.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"
  • Typical, my rating's too good to get another card!:wall:
  • On the main subject, my advice is not to bother with the checkmyfile triple report as it seems to miss loads of information out. I'm looking at their report compared to the actual Experian one and there loads of creditcards and one loan missing. Also no mention at all of financial associations. Even basic things like the name of the creditcards (i.e. Barclays etc) is missing. Rubbish.

It's far better to get each separately and I'm sure you get preferential treatment sorting out problems on the report etc.

Having said that £15 or whatever it is does seem a rip off but I needed to sort things quickly so took the hit. I haven't tried getting the £2 posted Equifax etc report so can't comment on that.

I think its an outrage that profit making organisations hold our personal credit information like this - surely it should be government funded and we should get our info for free? It can affect so many aspects of our lives. [Rant over] :p

The Experian credit scoring thingy is a waste of time. It means nothing to lenders, they do not use it. I would keep my £5.95 inmypocket and nottheirs!

Mortgages do not often show on CRA reports. I would not worry about that.

  • its such a wonderful useful words given about credit Reports provided by Galstone in this post. The url's mentioned in the post also would be useful for all the business people to keep their credit Report clean and clear.

well credit Report is one, the business man should always have a valid and updated copy of it, this is to ensure that your credit report information is correct, updated and authentic. The information that will appear on your credit report largely lies with your own personal credit history like past loans, credit cards and bill payments will appear on the credit report.

Credit reports are very crucial for financial transactions. If you do not pay proper attention to this then you may suffer in the long run. They will make things difficult as you struggle to pay your loans and the pathetic fact. so always update and maintain your credit Report.

You can get FREE ID Theft Protection which may provide you with FREE indications and warnings of attacks on your Credit File.

Have a read www.freeeidprotection.co.uk (Media links on home page).

You have a choice whether you wish to use the above system or not. Crooks don't have that choice.

There's also a link to Annual Credit Report where you can check you credit file. Without the need to enter credit or debit card details.

((Note: The Credit Reference Agency Annual Credit Report uses is Call Credit I believe)).
  • Hi,

I have been following this thread closey and thought i'd chip in :)

Is there much point in requesting a CR if you don't have a Credit card?

If you had just a standard debit card with a small overdraft, is there much point in requesting this?
