Did they say what sort of business they are or who they are and why they were doing a search?

Hello all,
I'm a bit confused this morning. I have just checked my credit report on Experian, who have put me in the 'Fair' category but Equifax have me in the 'Very Poor' category. I'm not sure which one, if either, is correct.
Experian seem to be missing a lot of information, but as most of my debts are quite old, i'm not sure if that information should be on my report anyway. In my mind, being in the Very Poor category is probably correct!
Argh!
Does anyone know which of these credit report companies are the most accurate?!0 -
I had the exact same thing, and Call Credit rate me as excellent! Goes to show they are a waste of money.
What is interseting is this sentence in the report "You are currently not making all of your payments on time and are several months late in making some/all payments."
This is completely untrue as all my accounts are up to date, with no arrears. I had one late payment in June last year.
In my case the info on Experian and Equifax is identical. Having now seen your post I am wondering if there is a glitch with Equifax or Experian.0 -
A question I've not seen the answer to yet, so excuse me if it's already been answered.
If a firm uses two or three CRAs, and they all have tallying information but to varying degrees of completeness, then (as it isn't a straight 'rating'), do they just compile the most complete information from all the checks and base it on that? Or do they prefer the CRA reports to verify each other with matching data?
If the former is the case, where your eligibility is actually improved by the completeness, I presume it makes sense to deliberately aim for products where you know the companies use more than one CRA if there are deficits in info?
I ask because my Experian report is, I am led to believe, only poor-to-fair at best and my Equifax report is slightly above average. I've got to say reading this thread about the stuff you see missing on the online reports has cheered me up a little
(Hello to everyone by the way! Been using this site for a while but only just had reason to sign up and post)

Anyone know how often lenders should be updating your file? I've just checked my report & my car finance company hasn't updated for nearly three months. I would like to apply for new credit after my final payment this month but I'm concerned that I'll have a debt of 3k showing when I owe nothing.0

I've just got my credit report. The problem is some of my active credit accounts are missing. Anyone knows how to solve this? Those missing accounts were shown on the report I checked around 1 yr ago...0

I had my credit report about a year ago on the 30 day free trial and cancelled within the time frame, at the time i wasn't concerned about an address i hadn't lived at because iwas getting the credit i wanted but i've not got any of the recent credit i applied for so thought it best to get my reports and sort out any problems, can anyone talk me through this step by step as i don't fully understand?:
first thing is write for my reports? (but where to?)
when they arrive check for discrepancies(sp?) (but how do i let them know if anythings wrong?)
and is there anything else i need to do?
Sorry to be so newbish.0 -
My credit report with Equifax has a loan from a bank that I don't recognise. I don't have any loans. Equifax say to take it up with the bank but I don't know who they are (HFC??). They are declining my request to amend the error in the report, saying it's the 'lender' 's responsibility. There IS no lender. What can I do in this catch 22?
Note to moderators: Can this thread (credit reports) have its own dedicated space within the site as it seems undervisited compared to the other credit threads, while problems with credit reports must be very common (?).0 -

You then contact the lender directly, and query the account entry.
NB: a quick google will find you HFC's details if you don't want to go through the above.0
