Hi Galstonian, you have given a wonderful post about how to get Free Credit Report.
Its really an important one to update and maintain personal credit report and business credit report to this is to ensure that your credit report information is correct, updated and authentic.
Many years ago its difficult to get Credit Report for a year, but now a days it is very easy to get free instant credit reports that are both reliable and factual. this credit report they will provide only once for a year if we request.0 -
I have been turned down by another credit card company (2nd in a year) but don't understand why. I have a good credit history - no CCJs or defaults. I got an experian report but I couldn't see what it could be that is causing my score to be low. I have one credit card which I use regularly.
Does where I live effect it? I am on the electoral roll but I am sure that the people in my flat before hand get letters re: debts that I return to sender. Does anyone know what I can do?
Thank you.Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0 -

Hi - I would check the reports from all three agencies: Experian, Equifax, and Call Credit. You may find that the other agencies show different information.
Hope that helps!0 -
hi
not sure if posting this in corrrect place
i recently paid of the balance on a store card and closed my acc
i have checked my credit file and whilst it shows links to my previous address for the store card, it doesnt show anything about the store card in my accounts page?

I've recently requested my reports from Experian and Equifax. I haven't received the Equifax one yet, as they've asked me to send them copies of Utility Bills/Bank Account Statements for "security purposes" but I've got the Experian one and it's shocking how wrong it is.
Firstly, it shows "No Electoral Roll information available from the addresses provided" which is a major issue. I've confirmed with my local Council that I am and have been registered at this address since I moved in 8 years ago.
I had the same problem when I got a copy of my report in November 2004 and it seems the problem is with my address, as I live in a flat in a named block so my address is formatted like Flat Number, Block Name, Road Number, Road Name and some agency's files don't include the Road Number. I don't think this should cause a problem, as my Post Code always brings up my address when I've entered it in various websites when ordering stuff. Nonetheless, my report in November was updated to include an Other address with the Road Number left out, which fixed the problem and resulted in all my accounts showing up on my report. So the question is why and when did Experian remove this Other address entry from my record.
Because of this, my current report doesn't show any of the credit accounts that were on my November report and should still be there, nor any of the accounts that I've opened since, so basically it looks like I have no credit history.
My current report also shows three Linked Addresses entries which are wrong. One contains a misspelling of my first name and shows the Date of information as 2002, even though this entry wasn't on my record in 2004.
The second is shown as information I provided in 2004, obviously when correcting the address problem, but it shows the address as Flat Number, Road Name, which, in the absence of the Block Name, would appear to link me to an address at the other end of my road. The third entry has the same error.
I've obviously notifed Experian of all this and hopefully they'll fix it by adding the Other address again, but overall I'm not impressed with the quality of Experian's record keeping. In fact, when I obtained my report in 2004, I also used the free online trial and found that there were discrepancies between my online record and my paper record which was worrying as I don't know which would be the source of any information provided to potential lenders. I can't check my online record for free again as it appears to be a one time only deal and says that I've previously used the free trial.0 -
Not very impressed with the creditexpert.co.uk system.
I signed up and entered my details including card number and when I submitted these the website crashed.
I then signed up again around a hour later, and 18 hours later still no email or anything.
I was worried that I had been 'phished' and so have rang today to cancel everything.
They even failed to send an email acknowledging they had received my 'order'.
Working in IT, I would rate this service very poorly - ESPECIALLY as they are dealing with sensitive information. Heaven knows what happened to the data I sent the first time.
Awful, never again.0 -
Hi - I can certainly agree with the previous post re Experian/CreditExpert's complete incompetence when it comes to processing applications for the "Free 30 day trial - View your credit report Instantly" !
Yeah, right....Applied on 9th Nov........and, again on 26 Nov.....now, after 2 applications ('cos the 1st was all done correctly, but ........their "computer systems failed") I've been told that I need to wait 72 hours - for my 2nd app (which has now been input twice!) to be "picked up by the sweeper"
So, only question is "What is that smell?!?" - Ah, yes the b******t that these numpties give you on the phone about "computer updates that take....Umm 48 hours.....or "Actually it's 72 hours".....
Now been told on 5 seperate occasions I'd be able to access the report "after 6pm", & still w a i t i n g.........
Anyways, that's the rant - although I've been reassured by their staff(?) that I won't be charged the £6.99 1st month until 30 days AFTER I can first actually access my report - I'm just really wondering if this is a standard BS practise with them to get punters paying monthly fees for what amounts to Sweet FA.?
Anyone been through this with them?
Oh yep - Happy Do-Dah's everyone on MSE -

Just received my credit report from Call Credit and their is a huge whopper of inaccuracy.... according to them for the past 12 months I have been 3 grand overdrawn with an agreed overdraft of 500 quid!
Not even I would lend to me if that were the case, phoned my bank and they confirmed that my account had never been overdrawn!
How can they get this wrong like this, will ring them tomorrow so get them to sort it. Wonder what my Experian and Credit Expert reports will say....0 -
I want to get a credit report for my OH as we are planning to get a mortgage within the next year so i want to build his credit rating up as when he was 18 he was stupid and missed payments on his card and never paid it off.
We have just applied for a credit card for him, it wasn't turned down straight away but think the letter we get will say he has been.
But anyway can i sign him up for credit expert using one of my cards as it says it has to be proof of identity? Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -

Perhaps you should order a £2 statutory report by post...In writing
Print a copy of our application form complete it, and send it to us including a cheque or postal order for £2. (The address is on the form.) You should receive your credit report within seven working days of us receiving your application.
