gotta love these made up attention seeking posts , so your husband is having an affair so you sign to a public forum for advice hmmmm like that happens in the real world

I wish people would stop with all these troll accusations.

Just give people the benefit of the doubt and offer advice.
If you can't do that, just move on to the next thread.

    I wish you luck, OP.

Being able to discuss a relationship problem completely anonymously and get a range of replies from a lot of people seems a very sensible use of the internet to me.

I think if the Op was attention seeking she would have written her name and address together with the post code on her profile. A public forum where nobody knows who you are seems the perfect place to get the opinions of others. Kernow many people probably have nobody in real life that they can open up to.

Actually does happen in the real world. I have tons of friends and family who are there for me through thick and thin, but when I had a horrible break up a couple of years ago I just didn't want to face up to any of them and reveal my true feelings, so I put it all on here and it helped me out a ton. Even now I sometimes read back the thread to remind me of how far I have come and of all the cracking people there are on these forums to offer advice.

Plus you get someone completely neutral and outwardly thinking about your situation who is completely removed from all the emotion.

    Basically, your post was stupid.

  • Well this thread wins the award for making me the most paranoid I've ever been in my life. Overwhelmed by the urge to check bf's messages now! Must resist!

Well, yes, it DOES happen. Which is why threads and forums like these were set up in the first place. Personally; as Mojisola mentioned, if I found myself in a similar predicament then I would ask for thoughts and advice somewhere like here, where people don't know me and therefore cannot gossip to friends/family or cast aspersions.

Most of the time a few people will come along who have actually BEEN in the situation themselves and can offer the benefit of their experience and some practical thoughts.

Of course there are trolls out there, but they are generally quite easy to identify. Kernow666.
