Levi and Lucky you'll like this - overheard on New Year's Eve in the ladies at our local (there was a poster on the back of the toilet doors advertising a diet club for a hefty £32 a month) I overheard "why would you want to pay £32 a month just to be told you're a fat b**tard". Made me smile :)

Hope your DS's eye gets better soon, it's taking its time, bless him.

  • LOL Sun Addict I completely agree. I debate joining chub club regularly. (once a week on a Weds morning since it starts on a Weds evening ;)) but then I decide I am not paying to be told I am fat. I can go to the doctors to the machine in the waiting room in front of all the strangers waiting, and be told for free plus have a helpful blood pressure check and be told I am short at the same time :rotfl:

Hope you're ok today Lucky xxx

  • Plenty of giggles on here yesterday, thank you :D.

Busy day for me yesterday. Went to a Nat Trust place in the morning, using our membership, to get DS2 out in the fresh air and burning some energy. It was lovely to have a walk around, but unfortunately all 3 of the kids play areas were inaccessible due to maintenance (and wet puddles on slides etc!). It was still a nice time out though.
Nipped back home for lunch and then took DH for his dentist appointment. Straight from there to see Grandma in the hospital and back home for DS1 getting back from school. Fed everyone else tea and then went out with some Mums from school to a new restaurant that opened up in the village a couple of weeks ago :j. I almost didn't go, but forced myself and really enjoyed it. Spent £22 and had a lovely night.

Steph, I am trying to do something nice every day. Yesterday was a bit of a cop out though, as it was just to take Grandma a muffin while she was in hospital, because she isn't enjoying the food and I thought she might fancy it. It's something I would do automatically though so I'm not sure it's 'going above and beyond'.

Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday Xx

It's the little things that matter so yes I think thinking of what your grandma would like definitely qualifies. If the whole world took a leaf out of your book it'd be a much kinder place x

  • Www you so thoughtful x
Glad u had a nice night out.
  • Yes it counts. And proves that as it is something you would do anyway that you do a dozen 'good deeds' a day without even thinking about it :)

Nat Trust place is deserving of a disappointment letter from a little fella methinks ;) as if they closed all 3 play areas. Always take a towel to the park as ours in always wet even in sunshine  lol

Night out sounds amazing and very :money: at £22 for a fab night!! So glad you talked yourself into going. I always talk myself out of stuff but when I do go i always enjoy it!!! xx

  • Hi Lucky :hello:

Sounds like it's been a busy week all round. I am loving the good things. I try my best but not sure if I do it every day. I remember when I got my antibiotics in the chemist a woman was getting tablets for a relative. She couldn't remember if she had to pay for them or not and being an older woman, didn't appear to have a mobile phone. I get free calls so gave her mine so she could call her son. The matter was sorted out very quickly. Another guy in the chemist came up to me and said that it was my good deed of the day but I didnt really think much of it as it really didn't cost me anything.

Its amazing how big the little things mean to others.

Hope DGMa is better soon and DS2 continues to show no more sickness.

    October xx
