  • Cheers Lilt! They have given me a provisional date for the fitting of new boiler which of course lands in half term. Why would it not? :rotfl:. (Not being ungrateful, promise!).

  • Ohhh... I hate the dentist and I am desperately trying to wait for my six monthly check up but I have a zinging tooth which I am sure is going to need a filling.. >.<

  • Hi PLMBL

We have the dentist tonight . Dreading it as we missed our last appointment so its been nearly a year since our last check up. I have always sent the children off to brush their teeth, I guess tonight will prove to me if they actually brush them properly. :o

Poor Ds, he is so poorly. Hope he is on the mend today, fingers crossed. I feel bad as my Ds claimed to feel ill this morning but I was mean mummy and packed him off to school. He is quite good a pulling a fast one!, so I don't always believe him. We will see if he makes it to the end of the day without being sent home. :o

Hope all is well today, take care xx
  • Lilt you are right about DH being grumpy! DS2 is off school again today (will explain in a sec) and he was NOT happy at missing the gym today (we've missed it for a week now). So much so, I've agreed to him going out running alone, in the snow, around the village just to put his face straight! He has promised to stick to the main paths rather than the fields and tracks, and I'm watching him on runkeeper, but I'll still be pleased when he is back in one piece because I really can't deal with any more drama without having a major breakdown!!

DS2 coughed and coughed last night and then ended up in bed with us at about 5am. He doesn't have a temperature but his eyelid is swollen even more today. He had to have an operation when he was 6 months old to remove a cyst from his eyelid, and it looks suspiciously like that again. I'm really not happy that it has dragged on for a week now and I'm taking him back to docs at 11.30am, even just for reassurance.

Steph I hope your DS was just trying to pull a fast one! My DS2 now looks so much happier knowing he is off school so the doubt is there as to how bad he actually is! Sometimes it's hard to tell with kids!! Hope the dentist goes ok for you. My DS1 was told off for not brushing long enough as the dentist said it was clear to see he just did a quick job. He gave him an egg timer and said to use it to make sure he was brushing long enough. Gosh 2 minutes is a long time!! Think we all need to work on that!

October, do you have long to wait for your check up appointment? Xx

  • Hi Lucky :hello:

My appointment is in March. It's weird, it zings every now and then, mostly at night. I need to up my teeth brushing time! I am terrible for brushing. Quick in and out and I am done. I always thought OH was slow..

Poor DS2. I think mummys are good at telling when their children are faking or not. My DM could always tell by my eyes. Whenever I am out of sorts I get very heavy lidded eyes. I think any child would be happy with not going to school, especially when ill. I know that I am always a little bit happier after I have called in sick to work and can relax. I think it is a really good idea taking him back to the Docs. It's always better to be on the safe side.

Try not to worry too much and make sure you are getting enough rest. You sound like the anxiety may be affecting you again. Sleep is a great deterrant for anxiety but it is a bit of a catch 22. As we are always saying, make sure you look after yourself as well as everyone else xxx

Hope today is an easy one for you.

    October xx
