Does anybody have a recipe for a Mars Bar cheesecake? I have a basic recipe which is a nigella one i always use but someone has asked me to make them a mars. Im unsure if i should melt the mars or just chop it in?
Any tips guys?0 -
it would be less hassle to chop it into the cheesecake filling, you could also put a layer of chopped mars bars between the base and the filling?0

Are these any help

I think melted & stirred into the mix so that it looks rippled sounds nice, maybe with some Baileys.
I daren't look at the recipes as they'll have pictures & my mental image is making me salivate.
Maybe you need to let us(ok me) know how you made it & if it is as wonderful as it sounds.0 -
I'm salivating!!!! Ill merge this with our cheesecake thread later when you get some more input. There should also be some yummy recipes in there.

In my haste I forgot to put a recipe up. Cheesecake in my house is a real treat, so I opt for the more calorific Marscapone cheese instead of normal cream cheese, although you could use cream cheese and add more sugar to sweeten.
Base:
Smash a packet of cheap digestive biscuits.
Melt some butter/marg in the microwave. Mix into the biscuits until the smashed biscuits are coated in butter.
If you end up with too much marg/greasy biscuits then add some more biscuit crumbs.
Mixture:
Take 2 tubs of marscapone cheese and place in a bowl. Put in a dollop of condensed milk to sweeten. Don't add too much or the filling will be sickly.
Whip a small tub of double cream and fold into the cheese and condensed sugar mixture. I've found that this lightens the texture.
Add the flavouring to the cheesecake. In the past, I've used lemon by adding juice and zest at this stage. I've also used crushed maltesers and Dime bars. Play around with the filling to suit your taste.
Dollop the filling into the base and add decoration if you want to, I normally save some of the chocolate from the filling for this.
Stick this in the fridge for half an hour, mmmmm.
Sorry I can't be more specific with the weights and measures of this recipe, I do it as I go along. This recipe is forgiving and will allow some margin for error. It's a no faffing, no baking recipe and always disappears quick in this house.0 -
Carnations creme du leche is what you need for banoffee pie to save boiling condensed milk for three hours.0

I'm going to make a baked raspberry cheesecake and the recipe calls for Ricotta cheese which unfortunately isn't stocked in any of the supermarkets or shops in the town I live in
. I can get Marcapone easily though and wondered if anyone knows if I can substitute that for the Ricotta?
The other ingredients in the filling are; double cream, eggs, sugar, flour and frozen rasps.
Thanks, Teapot0 -
You could use soft cheese, plain obviously, garlic and herb might not be so nice lol0
