  • Does anyone have a simple recipe please, with the emphasis on simple,;)
i made a cheesecake a long time ago but the family didnt like it, mind you they dont like my homemade bread either, likening it to a doorstopper
  • half pack biscuits (gingers/digestives, hobnobs etc)
    tbsp n half butter
    1600g philly
    2 lemons (or juice)
    vanilla extract

bash biscuits and melt the butter and mix into biscuits
press the biscuity mix into a tin and cook for a few mins til it looks baseyfied.... (temp of oven is medium.... dont wanna burn it)

    leave out to cool....

    then

mix your philly in a bowl til creamy. add in the lemon juice and vanilla to taste.... slap onto the base :D

    put in fridge :D

add a bit of what u fancy to the top....

a good food experiment... yup its vague but ive never killed anybody with the above.... :rotfl:

I've got to make a cheesecake for boxing day but i don't want to make it on xmas day. I was wondering if it can be frozen and then just defrosted on boxing day morning?
(I will be using value softcheese (thanks to this forum) and double cream to make it)

Yes, you can freeze cheesecake although some of them can weep a little on defrosting. However icing sugar and fruit coulis hide a multitude of sins;)

If you could make it on Christmas Eve or even the day before it would be fine in the fridge.
  • Can anyone help please, I used to have a recipe for a mandarin orange cheesecake, it used an orange jelly, marscopone cheese and cream. Has any one got a similar recipe please

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. • i have a recipe but its fairly basic!

usual base (mine is about 75g meltd butter mixed with a dozen crushed digestive biccies)
    300ml whipped double cream
mixed with 50g sugar (icing is better but i usually use plain white sugar)
added to 300g tub of cheap cream cheese (cheapest is about 80p)

you could add orange zest or orange essence to the cream mix, and decorate with orange slices.

we had one for tea tonight - cost around £2 + store cupboard stuff, but makes a biggish cheesecake thats gorgeous when its been in the fridge for an hour and is decorated with fresh fruit.
