I opted for the 30GB data/tethering, unlimited calls and texts option for £20 per month. Wanted to stay with 3 as I make regular use of the feel at home facility so was all about getting a deal I was happy with.

I did try for unlimited everything for £20 but the guy I spoke to wouldn't budge. I had set myself a max budget of £20 per month so I accepted the 30GB tariff as it easily suits my needs.

I have 2, the one plans but not received the letter so thought I would see what they would offer.
Ended up with AYCE mins & texts with 8GB data for £13 each on a 1 month rolling contract.
Better than the £36 and £31 I was paying. Only took 20 mins which is not bad for 3.
Never used a lot of data, just wanted it for tethering while away in caravan.

After having quit 3 well over a month ago, still didn't get my final bill or partial refund they still owed me. Called up, was fobbed off with 'don't worry' and no other information. Had to insist they check it out, eventually they organised a refund there and then. Had to insist again that they actually send me my final bill or that wouldn't have happened either.

    Nice.

Update: well the bill came in the post the next day, so maybe I just caught them one day too early. Or maybe it came because I complained, who knows.

I had big issues with bill shock largely due to premium rate text/service scams on Voda but I'm lead to believe it now provides extensive online user options to disable different types of out of allowance spend.

Vodafone was the first network to introduce Premium SMS bar in 1998 as part of its Map Phase 2+ roll out so I doubt very much that you request PSMS disabled on your account or it would have been done with little delay. Also, I think you'll find that unsolicited PSMS is clawed back and refunded.... unless you actually participated with the service - in which case the charges were legitimate and nothing to do with Vodafone or the PSMS service operator.

If you are having issues related to billing and account management then I suggest you call your CS rep and talking to them about your options. Amdocs has pretty much cornered the UK MNO market (who knows how/why) which means most of the capabilities of each network when it comes to products and subscription billing are pretty much the same.

declaration I am not affiliated with Amdocs or any UK MNO.

  • FYI they are also offering deals on iPhones etc not amazing but good if you are a heavy user e.g. iPhone 6s 64gb Unlimited Mins 8GB data £42 a month. My plan would have risen to £30 so 12 more for latest iPhone ok i guess....

So 3 consider this a deal for the Iphone 6s?

Unlimited everything same phone with 3 via buymobiles.net.

But for many like myself on sim only £14 to £33 is too much and I dont need a new phone.

Had my letter today and am looking for my next deal

If 3G is OK, better deal, less cash: https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/sim_only_deal/3b00acba588708fc9de261e9d672aedb3263d9dc
  • First time I called up the woman who answered was completely unintelligible. Second call I was not offered anything other than their listed tariffs, which frankly can easily be beaten! So I gave them my 30days notice and requested my PAC code. Received a text to say there was a problem and they couldn't give me a PAC code, so I had to call back again (this time to customer services) and they tried and tried and tried to sell me one of their standard tariffs! I did eventually get them to give me my PAC code. However I have since received a bill which goes beyond the termination date of my contract.
