Has anyone had recent success with haggling to get more 3 to 3 minutes when being bumped off the One Plan onto another plan?
Most of my chatting is either via Skype or to other 3 users, so plenty of data and "probably" 600 mins would suffice if I could get more 3 to 3 (which is no longer listed in their options, as far as I can see).0 -
I got the letter last week, I am on the One plan AYCE package rolling 1 month as 12 month contract finished a good while ago.
Now I don't see why I should pay an extra £12 per month but nothing lasts forever & I am out of contract like everybody else.
Before calling Three I analysed my usage and average about 300 mins and 1.5gb data, the max I have ever used is 496 mins & 3gb. I rarely tether but when I originally took the SIMO package I wanted piece of mind and the deal was great £25 with £7 off so £18 a month. The offer in the letter was ACYE with 12 GB tethering for £30 rolling month.
TBH I have always been happy with Three and I think the CS has been quite good. One of the key reasons I wanted to stay was Feel at Home as travel a lot and been to USA 3 times within last 12 months and canaries too and has been invaluable. So I made the call, it is obvious at the start that they have very little movement apart from the 4GB plans. After a good chat I was offered 4GB & Unlimited mins on 12 month, normally £19 but keeping my £7 discount so £12 a month. If I do get near the data limits they text and then cut off your data so no nasty bills. The bonus in my view is that you can buy a monthly Add-on of 4GB data for £5. For me personally I am actually saving £6 per month so a good result.0 -

Did the original call taker offer the £7, or did you have to ask for your PAC code and then talk to retentions? I've found talking to sales/support/ the CEO's Office in Scotland far better than dealing with India...
Here Three have fairly good 3G coverage and some 4G. O2 and Voda are pretty useless in this area with mostly 2G/Edge, so the only viable alternative would be EE who are a touch more costly than Three for what I think I need.
I've no real grumbles with Three and have used their feel at home on three trips to Spain where we have relatives and often visit, so sticking with Three would be an advantage to us if the price is reasonable.0 -

That's where my problem lies I average about 11-12 GB a month as our wifi coverage at home is crap and I regularly tether so my daughter can use her iPod. I hate the fact that I've now got to pay more because I stuck with them. EE/ T-Mobile have honoured the Flex-T package for users who're out of contract and allowed customers to get upgrades on the defunct price plan0 -

I suspect you mean your Broadband connection download speed rather than your home Wifi signal. Can you not change ISP0 -
I managed to get unlimited minutes/texts and 4GB for £14 in my local 3 shop. Not an amazing deal but better than expected when I asked and less hassle I thought than going through call centre hoops. Although from reading around the web this evening it seems people are getting some deals from them rather than just flat refusals.
I'm going EE for mobile broadband/backup either on PAYG or 30 day rolling since my usage is bound to increase over the next year, plus I get solid 4G at home which is not the case with 3. 12 months time we'll see where the land lies.0 -
I got 3 contracts with 3, 1 for myself and 2 for my girls, my eldest daughter has the one plan £15 sim only deal, got letter the other day offering the same plan in all but name but the price has doubled to £30 and that supposedly includes a £3 discount, lets just say that wont be happening!!Take every day as it comes!!0

I asked THREE whether it would affect people on £12.80 ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT contracts
Reply : Thanks for your email.
"There are no details of any planned change on your account at the moment. The people that we are contacting about this are all beyond their minimum term end date, so no longer in contract with us.
We’re sending out letters to give our customers 60 day’s notice of the change and also giving them the option of upgrading to a new plan of their choice or leaving us if they would like."
There's that word again "UPGRADING" - Good of them - offering an upgrade for little change in costs isn't it ?0 -

Lol - Three's upgrade offer to me was to cut tethering from AYCE to 12GB and increase the cost for this privilage from £15 to £30 !
The letter I received gives 30 days notice not 60 - "If we don't hear from you in the next 30 days, your account for xxxxxxxxx will be automatically changed on xx/xx/xxxx to all-you-can-eat data + all-you-can-eat minutes. Please treat this letter as your 30 days' notice of variation of your plan. Your new plan will have a monthly charge of £30 and will be on a 1 month rolling contact."
I'm currently on a 1 month rolling "contract" hence the reason Three is giving 30 days notice of contract terms variation as stated in said letter. Any 1 month rolling contract is outside its minimum term 1 month after it starts but that doesn't mean a customer is "no longer in contract" as if that was the case Three wouldn't need to send these letters and customers would not need to give notice to terminate their "contract".0
