  • Hi All, Im in need of a bit of advice, I have started the process of reclaiming my bank charges from Lloyds TSB, I received a letter yesterday from there recovery centre, offering £750, and cancelling any outstanding bank charges in a full and final settlement. My bank charges total was £2400.00. Has anyone got any advice please.

    You need to write a polite but firm letter back to them telling them that you will take the 750 as a goodwill gesture and part payment of the money they owe you "without prejudice". The without prejudice part is very important because it makes it quite clear to all who read the letter that you are not giving up your right to take the bank to court to reclaim the rest of your money.
    Good Luck.;)

    Hi

    I had a letter fform LTSB sols 2 wks ago offering me full amount of £286.00. Yeah yeah yeah. I sent my letter back advising I will accept. Does anyone out there know how long it takes for the chq to arrive as I should have submitted my Ct bundle last Wednesday but as I got the full offer I didn't bother and now I am starting to worry incase SCM change their minds.
    :confused:

    I would definitely write to Lloyds and also the FO advising that you will be pursuing the whole amount, otherwise the FO may think that you are settled on £750 ad close the case.

    Thank you very much

    Firstly you should have contacted the court advising them that you have now been made an offer that you are willing to accept. The court could have helped you speed up the payment process.

    Secondly they should have informed you when they intend to pay it but its usually between 2 to 4 week (unless you had the court on-side to chase it quicker :()
    Got It & Spent It :dance:
    IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)
    MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)
    I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)
    CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)
    BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)
    On Hold :mad:
    A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)
    BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)
    BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)
    ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)

    Well people, all I can say is;

    When you get letters from the bank telling you that they believe the charges are fair - ignore and proceed.

    When you get letters from the bank telling you that the charges are listed in your terms and conditions - ignore and proceed.

    When you get worried that you'll have to go online and issue a claim - ignore and proceed.

    When your bank acknowledge your claim - don't fret, wait.

    When your bank defend - don't fret, wait.

    When you get a court date - don't fret, wait.

    When you receive a letter from SC&M telling you that £4999+220 court costs will be paid to you if you accept it - smile, you've won!

    WAHOOOOOO!

    Thanks to everyone who helped, it's over...

    Well, when the money hits my account that is...
