Well, after getting nowhere with the Bank in requesting a breakdown of my loan payments to date so I could check the charges incurred against my records, I complained to the Ombudsman about Lloyds and their policies and practices. Received a phone call from Ombudsman to say Lloyds have ADMITTED THEY WERE IN THE WRONG in adding charges to the account, ALL THE CHARGES WILL BE REIMBURSED, and as a gesture of goodwill, they will GIVE ME £100 (well its taken off the loan amount but its still a positive!). So, to anyone out there fighting this bank re charges and unresponsive communication, I'd advise them to take it to the Ombudsman and let them sort it out for you! Well done Ombudsman!0

Hi,
I might have found a solution in getting Lloyds tsb to take the hard ship cases seriously.
I have recieved the same response as Dohadeer on two instances when claiming hardship. It seems that Lloyds believe that they are dealing with the FSA hardship exception by sending us on to the Customer Support Unit.
I then called the Financial Ombudsman, who are now filing a complaint against Lloyds TSB requesting them to deal with the charge claim and not with the issue as a generic hardship case.
So I suggest that everybody having these issues with Lloyds call FOS and explain the situation.
FOS: 0845 080 1800
They will ask you a couple of questions and send you a complaint form, which you have to send in along with all communication between you and the bank that you can document.
The more that do the stronger our case.
FOS will do the hard work for us!

I sent the first letter off to Lloyds TSB a couple of weeks ago, with a list of all the charges I want to claim back, amounting to about £850.
I recieved a letter back today, where they say that they aim to complete thier enquiries within 4 weeks. They also state:
"If your complaint is about the level, fairness or lawfulness of overdraft bank charges, then a different process that we've agreed with the Financial Services Authority will apply. We will write to you shortly to explain how we'll handle that complaint and what steps we will take to protect your rights"
This letter seems like a pretty standard letter, but what do I do next?
Do I wait for them to write to me again, or is now the time to send the second letter threatening court action? Also, does anyone know what the "different process" is?
Many thanks.0 -
my partner had the same letter he put his claim in on aug 2007 but then in novenber lost his job so decided to claim under financial hardship they again sent the same letter then after six weeks sent a letter saying basically its still on hold they have nt even bothered looking into whether he s in hardship or not so we wrote again got same letter again its been about 4 weeks again now so if we dont hear anything next week where gonna take it up with the fos:mad: still waiting on halifax claim

Hi Slim
Sorry to hear its taking so long for you! Hope you get a result soon x0 -
Lloyds-TSB have changed their fees.
For going over you overdraft you will be charged £15 standard fee followed by an extra charge for every day that you are over your limit (max charge is 10 days) this also includes weekends. The charges are £15 fee if you are £1-£50 over, £20 fee for £50-£100 pounds over and £25 fee for being £100+ over.
This is a scandal and I advise anyone who gets charged this to march into their branch and demand the fees bank or they will take their business elsewhere.
We are the banks customers not the other way round.0 -
I had this charge and was due to pay £21 even when it was only a few quid over my limit. Luckily as it was my first time over my limit I asked in the branch and they were able to take off the charges.DMP with PayplanDMP Support number 287Trying to lose lbs and save £££s!0
