  • Also can someone tell me what I can and can't claim for on Credit Cards ( I have 4).

Sorry if I sound stupid or lazy, I can assure you I am not but I cant find any info other than the step by step guide that I actually understand. Maths and financial statements were never my best subjects sorry :o But at least I am trying to reduce my debts :D

    Many thanks

    :)

What are you trying to claim? Exactly what info are you looking for? Unluckily, this question makes very little sense.

  • Hi All

Recently i've been getting charged from Lloyds that puts me over my overdraft limit. From this i'm then getting charged for being over my overdraft.

Are they allowed to do this ? - Seems to me they're generating cash by making people overdrawn?

    Any help much appreciated.

Sadly I suspect that however underhand, unethical and unfair this is, it's probably legal.

    Any help much appreciated.
  • Is sadly entirely legal. The amounts of the charges and the times they're applied can be found in your terms and conditions. It's a good idea to get in touch with your bank and determine exactly when and how much any pending charges are. It's easy to get confused and if you're right up against your overdraft limit, they'll keep pushing you over and your charges will snowball.

If you don't know what's due to come out, things could get a wee bit difficult for you.

It is up to you what you claim for, I just claimed the difference between £12.00 and the £20.00 I'd been charged, So therefore £8 per late payment, others go for the full amount, plus interest, you will find an interest calculator on the info about reclaiming.

  • Has anyone managed to get their bank charge claims looked at quicker by proving they are suffering from financial hardship?
I followed guides from this site, explained what I wanted to do & asked if I needed to complete a Financial Statement to prove this etc but NO-ONE has a clue what I'm on about! I've been passed around on the phone & the counter staff in branch look blank & will not try asking anyone!
Has anyone got this via Lloyds & if so how did you do it?!!!!!!!!

Have you wrote any letters to Lloyds yet to the addresses in the guide? If so, how far are you through the process?

Talking to the counter staff is probably not going to get you very far as it's unlikely they will know much about refunding, the current court case, hardship etc. Even if they do have any knowledge, it's better to follow the guide and write the letters.
  • Hi Guys i wrote a letter to my local bank explaining financial hardship and listing all bank charges a couple of days ago and have received a letter back explaining that they are forwarding my letter to their Andover Customer Service Recovery Centre that specialises in complaints like mine and that i should have a response in 4 weeks.

Has anybody else had anything like this? What is likely to happen next?

    Many thnx.
  • I have been claiming back some charges and have so far been successful but now i have noticed that my bank (lloyds tsb) are charging me nearly £300 a month again.
I looked at a letter i recieved and it says they will be charging me £15 PER DAY! i thought the legal limit was £15 END OF??
They are them charging me £20 PER DAY if i am still overdrawn for more than so many days. Then they charge me different amounts if a cheque bouncers.
For example a £40 cheque was rejected, i was charged £15. A £100 was rejected and i was charged £35. Can they really do this?
