Lovely to see you MsG - sorry about the tummy bug, hope you had a good time.

Just found a relative I have never found before, a great uncle who married and had children. I need to have a good think about starting my tree again and the best way to record it. There are lots of errors in my original trees and I am not sure about the software I've got. Any tips very welcome. I can see me engrossed again for hours whilst using my free month.

Must go to bed now or I'll be exhausted tomorrow.

    JTTOU thinking of you x

  • Hi everyone. I've had quite a good day - quite on top of dailies, and I ate a frog that had been bothering me for ages! Didn't do much else from the list though. Not working tomorrow, and no major commitments, so planning lots of busyness - including a trip to £land for wrapping paper, and to look for new boots...

The zip has broken on my boots. Anyone know how much it would cost to have it replaced?

    Evening all.

Hugs & vibes to all as I've just skim read tonight.

Today I've had one of those days where I don't seem to have achieved much at all. I've managed to write a shopping list for DD's Christmas gifts (most of which are available from that 'river' website ;)), set budgets for everyone else for if I have the money otherwise its school photos as gifts this year as they're all ready paid for :rotfl: Did some paid stuff, went to the shops and actually spent <£10 in H0mebargains (almost unheard of!) and <£10 in 2 other shops. :D Jumped the bus home & DD was home less than 5 minutes later! I did manage to do 5 (possibly more) wash loads out of necessity rather than desire! My normal laundry routine has gone out the window between half term and DD being away and I discovered I had no clean sheets for my bed when I came to re-make it this morning. :rotfl:

Got DD to wash up while I popped out to work again. Just as I was about to leave I heard a quiet thud from the kitchen and DD announces she's broken my big vase  Apparently it fell as she took some bowls out of the cupboard and landed on her foot. Thankfully it just appears bruised, and the vase was in big pieces so not too bad. I'm just annoyed as last year she went through a phase of breaking dishes, this year it seems to be 'decorative' items as she's already broken a lamp and a couple of things in her room. I'm starting to think twice about putting my ornaments back out as most belonged to grandparents and I don't want them breaking while she's going through another phase like this! :(

Off to town tomorrow morning, I'll have to charge my phone again tomorrow morning before I leave as it has my bus pass on it. Hoping to go to the bank to pay some money in, and do some minor christmas window shopping as it was too busy on Friday to do much. Right now though I've still not made my bed so I'm off to bed right after I've done that. I think an early night will be called for tomorrow. I'm shattered :(

    Rampant Recycler Debt-free and Proud!

Hiya everyone and a warm welcome to the new peoples
    morning all!

    FLYLADY SECRET SANTA
I have volunteered to organise this again this year. (Unless anyone else desperately wants to.) So I'm just asking is this okay with everyone?
Please could someone explain what you do on here for the C* card thing and this. I don't use f/b (bad happenings) so can I still join in ???

JTTOU - Sorry to hear your achievement has been side-swiped. Hope you find a way round it, but can't offer any advice as I don't have any knowledge about this. Meanwhile sending some ((hugs))

Mrs MP - Think you do so much for your MIL anyway that you deserve a halo.
BTW - release 5 ducks in November  sounds a bit like that C* song :rotfl:

LW - try to keep positive about Thursday as I am hoping they have some good news for you.

I had an unexpectedly lovely day today :)
My paid work texted to say that the appointments had been cancelled today and so I did not need to go in. I know I will miss the money but I have worked so many extra days in the last month it was nice to suddenly have the whole day FREE !!

So did the listies and then pottered about all day - so liberating not to have to watch the time all day. Even DH's shift changed so he went off at 15.30 after a kind of High Tea (gosh that makes me sound ancient) and won't be back until about 3.00am.

    So other things achieved were
Our bedroom cleared of all gibble and put away.
    Kitchen hotspot cleared.
Kitchen larder/stock cupboard sorted and tidy.
    Fridge emptied, de-cluttered and cleaned.
One of the two remaining boxes in spare room sorted.
    Balcony boxes watered.
Nine bell-peppers (on offer A*di) chopped, added to chopped onions and cooked and cooked and added red lentils. All packaged and frozen in 4 lots for future use in chilli/bolog type stuff.
All mags and papers in sitting room sorted into 'keep for now' and recycle.
Recycling unit cleared, cleaned and refitted bags.
New for me - made a menu plan for the week (we will see how it goes)
    ALL WUDUPA done.
Me Time - gave myself a nice manicure and painted my nails TWICE :)

If it's gone I've done it or don't have one

    Marvellous Monday - Kitchen
    all done

Tremendous Tuesday - Living Room and Hallway
    Only got 15 minutes....
    wipe coffee table
    30 minutes to spare....
    Hoover floors
    Hoover/wipe sofas
    Got an hour....
Sort out a cupboard/drawer/display cupboard - do you need all that stuff tucked away at the back?

    Extras

Do something that makes you happy

Sorry it's a long post but it's been a long, productive and happy day and its not gone midnight for once :j I'm taking a Horlicks to bed.

Sticks, spoons and hugs for all those in need

    Nighty-night

    Good morning.

Kitchen and bathroom got done yesterday.
    Dailies done.
Went out and as I had a £10 voucher used that to buy a Christmas present. Then saw something I wanted for DD in local chemist half price I got that.

Many years ago Mam was in a relationship with someone. His kids called her Mam too. I have never seen them for many years. Now through a photo on FB his youngest daughter has contacted me. She said she was so upset when Mam left and has thought about her for years. I'm so pleased we have reconnected and she wants to come and see me.

    JTTOU Hugs

    Katiecat Hugs

At my voluntary job today so probably just the dailies will get done.

    To lynnejk and all newbies!
Of course you can join in - the more the merrier :) For the cards swap, PM Natty68 and send her your MSE name, real name, postal address and email address (for any e-cards - but obviously only if you are happy for other people to have your email address). Natty will send you a list of names of all the people who have joined the card swap as well as her own postal address. You write individual cards, pop each in an envelope with the recipients's name on it, put all the cards in one big envelope and post it to Natty by whatever deadline she has fixed. She will sort them and send each recipient their own cards. Your postal address will remain private, except between you and Natty

For the Secret Santa, PM cyclingyorkie and send her your MSE name, real name and postal address. She will send you the name and address of one other person, and you choose a gift (or a couple of mini-gifts) for them - we usually have quite a low "maximum outlay" limit and it's fun being inventive, though do bear in mind the parcel postage prices and mind the weight ;) You post the parcel yourself to the lucky recipient, to arrive in good time for the festive season. It's up to you whether or not you put a return address on the parcel: some Flyladies put a relative's address instead of their own  whilst others are happy to reveal where they live :p (though of course the contents are sent by "your Secret Santa" ;) )

    HTH

I love sending and receiving Flylady cards - they have a place of honour in my house, because we all go through so much together - and opening a Secret Santa parcel is always a very special moment :j

Morning all. I've been up a while and have had breakfast, made casserole which is in the slow cooker and washed up. Just about to spend 30 mins doing a bit in as many rooms as poss. Early start at the paid stuff today although I am taking time out to walk the dogs and take LittleyDog to the groomer.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.

LOL its just something that caught my eye, dont ask me why little yellow ducks but the group involved thought of using the little yellow duck project to highlight organ donation. so a duck is knitted sewn or crocheted then a card is hung rounds its neck with the web addy on and a little message saying the duck was knitted with love just for the finder and they are welcome to take it home. if the finder registers it on the LYD website you know it was found and is safe and well and they get to read some info on organ donation and how important it is - its not hard sell. but i think some people are just happy to get a free toy and dont check what it is for or look at the website. of the 4 ive already left 1 has been declared on site (i got such a lovely thank you message it has made it worth doing) obviously its all anonymous so part of the fun is trying to leave the ducks in places to be found with out anyone spotting its you.
one got released in the trolleys outside sains this morning so i would think one of the kiddies on the way to school will find it.

going drs with mil this afty so may take the others with me into town and release them while im there;)
