Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you to Natty for last week's thread

There are 3 levels per day with depending on how much time you have. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up.

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week:

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Thanks dusty and natty for last week. I'm at paid stuff tomorrow but will be in later.

My ironing is up to date and I sorted my purse last week :T so I have a little advantage!

    See you all later xxx

  • Hiya, thanks for the new thread. Tsco order done, meal plan done, and grocery challenge spend updated.

Feeling very zzz now, but need to sew a label on a PE kit before sleep.

Paid work tomorrow am, then will (attempt to) tackle baby's room - it's a TIP. But I think I will at least manage L1, maybe L2 as well - floors were mopped yesterday, but will probably be gunky again by tomorrow anyway!! And I've been meaning to do the cutlery drawer as well.
  • Think I'm definitely going to be doing this now. I feel like the housework's gotten away from me.

How does it work, exactly? Do we post our own lists and cross them off?
  • I'm in - thanks Dusty :A

    Welcome newbies :D

I'm going to pick a few things each day from the lists and add a declutter / Toots mission of my own. I need to be realistic as I don't manage to complete a whole list and I then get down because I haven't done it :o

Thank you to Dusty for the new thread and to Natty for last week's lists.

    Welcome to all newbies.

Tomorrow's list is perfect for me. My frog in the kitchen is my eggshell collection - I have been collecting them for a couple of weeks, ready to bake and then smash. They are destined to protect some of my slug-tender plants! I did the baking part today when I took our evening meal out of the oven, so tomorrow I can have the fun of smashing them :D

We have visitors arriving on Thursday. My work in the the garden is done, so I will be able to concentrate on the house.

My personal challenges for this week:
    1. Tidy and clean all through the house by Thursday lunchtime
    2. Check 10 course boxes and list all missing items before doing any more ancestor hunting

    Welcome

We make it work however is best for us :) I'll post a suggested list of tasks each evening ready for the next day, you can do those if you like or write your own lists. We celebrate all we have achieved and don't worry about what we didn't.

  • I am checking in now as I probably wont be on in the morning, thanks Dusty. Welcome RadioHorse, as Dusty says you will find your own way of doing this as you go along. For me I make a mental list of what really needs to be done in the room that I need to be working on then just do what I can as time allows.

The main thing is that you are doing something (no matter how little) every day and not beating yourself up about what doesnt get done.

Lots of paid stuff tomorrow - and the kitchen is half re-fitted so I will do what I can!

Weather forecast looks good here so I will get some washing out first thing and I really should do some baking too.

Plus my 15 minutes in my Room of Doom at 11.15, after the other two Reminders on my phone have been actioned.
