Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.
Thank you Dusty for last week's thread
There are 3 levels per day with depending on how much time you have. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.
Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day. Another one where it’s up to you if you want to do it or if you need to. This follows requests from members who are looking to declutter. Fling boogies, hotspot clearing, cupboard sorts, drawer sorts etc will all be on this list. Any problems with this of any suggestions do please let me know.
A few of the basics before we start the week:
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

I will also be posting over on the FB Flylady MSE thread details about this year’s Christmas Card Exchange if anyone wants to join in.

Yikes, living on toast is not a good idea sweetie, even if you are losing weight on it.. You do need to eat something more substantial than that. I hope you start to feel better soon and have an appetite again.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Another 'half term Toots list' day of success - Christmas Cake is made. Was rather scary as it's the first time in a while; but it occurred to me to use the oven without the fan, it seems to have cooked beautifully. Have also made a Date and Walnut loaf. And have flour in the freezer. New labels printed off for jars in larder cupboard and flour jars. Ironing done. make up brushes drying on rad.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I'm in again this week, last week was a bit of a disaster for me with a poorly clingy baby amongst other things. I also made the mistake last week of trying to do the whole list every day, I know I know, I have read all the advice so I've proved you all right
So this week I'm sticking with my usual dailies and just doing the 15 minute task each day
Tomorrow is also weigh day for chunk! First since we started weaning so will be interested to see if we've had a spurt :TNew Mum trying to live a frugal life in the hope of being a SAHM when maternity leave ends next year.

HI all, and thanks for the new thread. Today Has been good for money saving, less good for flying - because sometimes things that save money take ages and make a mess!
I managed to salvage some old curtains for our new bedroom, which saved £££ but took a long time. They are a nice plain cream woven cotton, and go with the new room beautifully, but were 6 inches too short, and had horrible stains along the bottom 8 inches or so from when a radiator leaked on them. I bought some nice striped ticking fabric in cream and duck egg blue, and sewed it onto the bottom of the curtains as a sort of large border. I decided if they didn't look 'right' I would give in and buy new curtains, but they look BRILLIANT :j
Anyhow, that took ages and meant the whole bedroom was covered in sewing stuff and fabric and the ironing board etc etc, and the rest of the house is really messy. Usually in such circumstances I would suggest a takeaway (no cooking = more time to clean up) but I wanted to stick to our weekly budget, and the meal plan, and use up the stuff in the fridge, so cooked. Again, :jfor money saving, but
for flying, as the kitchen is messy too now! DH is going to clean it up, bless him.
Out all day tomorrow with the little ones, so probably limited flying, but at least we won't make MORE mess! Sleep well all, and I hope you wake feeling happy Natty. Valli, I think you should chop your butternut squash up smaller, and roast it at a high heat for about 25 mins with plenty of olive oil. Although I am by no means a chef!!!0 -
I'm in but mon- wed will be minimal with a catch up in thurs and fri and working sat this week. Half term chaos!
Sushi star - sounds great! Well done!
Sahmwannsbe - good for you for having a go. Lots of days it's a struggle for me to do the dailies and I'm sure others are the same so don't go half killing yourself with it. When it gets tidier and cleaner it's less work so the lists get easier - that's what I'm hoping anyway!!!!! It's only housework at the end of the day :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
