  • How's things cream t, you are wise saving now as babies can result in higher spending for a while! Be wary on spending on nursery furniture as they have it such a short time. With the exception of a cot try and get things that can be used ongoing. I'd also say don't buy many small clothes, your DH is tall isn't he so it wouldn't be suprising if little one is too therefore the 0-3 clothes will be grown out off in weeks!
  • Sorry for the long gap. I normally check what's going on every day and write a post every couple but I'm finding I'm so tired I come in from work, eat and sleep. We have however continued the good money saving work and I've done a few more payments off the cc whilst I've been gone.

The money plan for the coming months is to save for...
    Carpets,
    Cot mattress,
    Chest of drawers,
    Pram,
    Monitor,
    NCT class,
Plus bits of clothes, blankets, etc, etc.

Ourcornercottage we came to a similar conclusion when a friend offered us her mamas and papas cot/bed for £40. Rather than spending £700 on a furniture set we have the cot and because of the slanted roof in the nursery we are getting two chest of drawers rather than drawers and wardrobe. The room is already neutral so no work needed there.

We are also no longer extending bathroom but getting it refitted and adding a short bath.

I hope everyone is well. I will try catching up with every diaries soon.

  • In mortgage news... We have paid off £965 this months including the regular and OP. This brings us to £147,258.

A friend bought a house in the parallel street and the house lay out is identical with the exception of our dining room extension and has paid £260,000 for it. If this is the correct market value we have £113,000 in equity at the moment. It was a good time to buy.
