Paid the remaining £150 off CC2! I'm so pleased we now only have 1 x CC and 2 x overdrafts to clear, another momentous day! The money saving thing does work. :j

No other savings to report with DHs wage this week as we are going on holiday tomorrow and are leaving it all for that. Any leftovers will be dutifully put towards the extension fund.

  • Well done you! that's so good. I paid off my OD by moving my account and paying it off as quickly as I could and not taking an OD on the new account. If id used my brain id then have used the old account for a switch but I didn't and just closed it. It worked for me!

I might look at doing that. It will stop the temptation to spend what we have paid off it.

What the benefit of having an old account to switch?

That's brilliant, well done. You could snowball those payment to the others and get them paid off quicker. Nice to see those figures fall isn't it.

This is a real school day for me. I've just looked up what snowballing payments are. More things to research after holiday.

£100 paid off the cc and £300 added to the extension fund. Signature updated.

Now for a quarterly update of the New Year plan...

    - We originally had a plan for £6000 of mortgage OP in 2015, we reduced to £4800 so we can have money for other plans. So far we have done £1200 (25%), we are on track.

    - We originally had a plan for £2000 Emergency fund which we increased to £4500 because that is 3 months outgoings. We have got £500 (11.1%) so far. A little behind but we will catch up later in the year once other goals are achieved.

    - Goal of 21lbs weight loss. I have lost 5lbs (23.8%) so far. I will keep chipping away!

    - Plan for Extension fund of £6000 by March, we have £3616 (60.3%). We are a little behind.

    - Work project very nearly finished.

In addition we have managed to clear £1261 off overdrafts and CCs this year.

When you see the figures like that, we have done well!
