What :eek::eek:???? On a blind taste test (yup, I really did it :rotfl:) Mr GG preferred the Corale beans to Heinz :T.0
-
I took one look at the beans and went for branstons instead, still a saving on our normal heinz so I will let you know. I was quite surprised the only item I wanted that they didn't have was hair mousse (apparently people with curly hair are not catered for
).
Luckyinlife, we plan to start our small single storey bathroom extension at the end of the month which is now going to be beginning of next month because we are away the last week of March. I can't wait, it is something we have wanted to do since we moved 2 and a half years ago but with saving for a wedding and general life we are still without a bath. I cannot wait, I like a shower and in fact prefer a shower but not having a bath has been rather hard after a long day a work. I didn't realise how much I would miss them.
I hope everyone has lovely plans for this sunny weekend!

GG what a good idea. Have you been watching eat well for less on BBC? It's a bit like your taste test, the episode I saw it was quite interesting and the family didn't notice the difference in foods and in fact didn't like some of the stuff that they regularly buy. It just shows how effected by packaging we are.

After some discussion with DH we have decided to reduce our MFW 2015 goal from £6000 to £4800. Although later in the year we will have the money for it we have decided to leave it as our normal £400 a month OP and any excess later in the year is for retirement planning and savings.
Quite a cheap weekend. We ate out with tesco vouchers, we've been to friends house for her bday drinks, made a cake and gave her bubbly for her bday (bubbly was an unwanted gift as we don't drink it). Now just to chill out today and visit fam a lam.

£6000 is a heck of a lot. I set mine at £5000 but will be happy as long as I'm over 4 really. It's good in my eyes to set a challenging yet realistic target.
Well done on the cheap weekend, I think we spent about £30 between the 3 of us including being out so not bad. You've reminded me to keep checking Tesco and nector to exchange for pizza express voucher. We all enjoy eating there so must remember!
I'm going to try and manage 3 NSDs this week!0 -
Well done on your cheap weekend. The Tesco meal vouchers are really brilliant in my opinion. Four of us ate out and we paid £10 for drinks, a bargain!
We decided we don't want to go mad and put everything in OPing and have so many plans for this year so spreading the money out sensibly.
Good luck on your NSDs this week.

Another pay day! £100 paid equally between the two CCs. DHs parking fine paid . Buffers topped up and £200 added to the extension fund.
Extension fund is going slowly but surely. I've gone round in circles regarding a money plan and now I think it's important to clear CCs so I can have a clear head about everything else. Each week I'm going to knock £50 off each card, when the small card is paid (three more pay days) I will knock £100 a week off the big one. Obviously I will change my mind again in a couple of weeks!
In non money saving news, eight more sleeps until our week in Cornwall! I can't wait. Its DH, my best friend and her partner and myself. We've made plans for us all and snuck some boy only plans in so the bestie and myself get some time to catch up. It's going to be lovely...walks along the beach, bike rides, a brewery tour, indoor surfing experience, Cornish pasties, Cornish clotted cream (with everything!), lots of wine!

Happy Monday all. Paid another £22 off the small CC to make it a round number. The things you do when left staring at the accounts!
I'm going to make nigellas guiness chocolate cake ready for st. Patricks day tomorrow. I will send some into DH work and take the rest to mine I think. I do enjoy a baking day.

Obviously it's my day off so I calculate and calculate all morning until I'm ready to really start the day. The result of my calculating today is that in 10 months time at the rate we're going our interest on the mortgage will be under £10 a day. That will be the first mortgage payment of 2016 (1st January). How fitting for the new year new year!
