Thanks Cath, I will have a look over it later.

I've updated my signature. We have knocked just under £1000 which is lovely. DH night work is on hold this week so as ever the extension is set back. I think I set unrealistic goals which is good because it pushes us, however it's annoying when we don't achieve them.

You're doing great with 2015 target, think I'm at 16% so you have motivated me to find a bit extra to pay off!

I downloaded an app the other week and just noticed it tells you how many payments you have left. I have 220! Not daunghting at all!!!!! Although since we started our two year fixed rate in November (five mortgage payments ago) we have knocked two months off. That's a positive sign that we will knock lots more off in no time!

DH pay day so paid £100 off the CCs, topped up the buffers and put £350 in the extension fund bringing us over £3k to £3112!! Another barrier broken and feeling great!

We go on holiday to Cornwall for a week on 21st March, two weeks to go. I cannot wait. We need this holiday to blast the cob webs out and reward us for a few months of really good savings and debt repayment. I think it's the way to keep DH on side with the frugal living.

I did my Tescos online shop today which did include lots of toiletries because everything ran out yesterday. When I got to the payment page it was £70. There are only two of us in the house and there was no meat on that shop because we buy it from the butchers now. I was horrified to say the least. I decided to go to lidl which my dad keeps recommending he is a convert. I did the same shop I planned to at Tesco and had 15 extra items basically bits I saw and as I went round (I added them to my list to be very sad and work out the difference!) and the bill came to £50. That is £20 cheaper and 15 items more. I will keep you posted about what the foods like but I feel like this May be the way forward.

We regularly shop at @ldi, can't fault the food. Can be in and out of there in 30 minutes too which is even better!

  • I shop at Aldi for the main shop and top up any bits I can't get there at Asda. I usually have a bill of 40-70 per week for 3 of us.

My meal planning has kept it nearer the £40 pw.

I don't ever do my main shop at the main supermarkets now.
  • Ps don't buy aldi beans though, they are vile! The only thing I've ever had I don't like!

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
