The extension will be started before you know it and it's great the quotes are reasonable.

Good news about your hours too, full time is challenging especially in your work. From colleagues that have reduced to 30 hours it has made a huge difference, extra day off or less long days for example.

The second builder has given us a provisional quote which is the same as the first builder but this builder also includes doing the roof which we had said we could get a friend to do. Feeling very pleased with this. If he does it, it takes some of the stress out of it for DH. Someone else will be sorting it all. We will just need to organise the plastering, bathroom suite, electrics and plumbing. Looks like we now have enough money for the extension! Looks like we originally overestimated the cost of the extension. Now to wait on the second builders final quote and confirm who we want to go with. Then we can focus on the saving for the summer holidays we have planned and clearing the remaining credit card!

I asked my boss if she had heard back about me reducing hours. She said matron would like to speak with me, so hopefully all is well.

Updated signature and it felt really good to delete the extension fund from it. That's one more thing achieved this year!

Also renewed the car insurance this week. It is £120 cheaper than last year! All in all a good week in our household.

Paid £50 off the CC. Not long until I can close that one too!

To get things moving forward I'm going to ask a family friend who has done plastering at our already to price us up for the remaining bedroom, living room, dining room, new bathroom, hall way and rendering the outside ground floor level of our house. Hopefully we can time it that he starts that shortly after we have finished the extension.

We are having a small bathroom extension LIL, which will double the size of it and allow us to put a bath in it. I've really missed having a bath.

Sadly we won't increase OP yet, we will keep it at £400pm. We plan to focus on paying off CC and our holidays we have this summer and getting the emergency fund up and running. We want all that done by the time my hours (hopefully) reduce in August and the money is affected. Then once that's all done we can OP to our hearts content!

Have a good week in your house. Not long now until you will be able to move in!

My hour reduction has been authorised! It's going to be a 3 month trial starting from the next rota I do, which will be the end of July. I can't wait!

Second builder came back with the final quote and it's £300 more than the first but includes more and will mean DH won't need to do as much. Which I like and it goes without saying DH will! Now waiting on official start date. This is can't come quick enough.

Nothing planned, like you say LIL just enjoying life. Probably more cleaning, tidying and cooking to catch up on the house

DH is on a night shift and I want to find out when the extension is going to start. I'm ready already!!
