NST November: battening down the hatches!

Just checking in with Saturdays results. Over the past week I have been stocking up cupboards, fridge and freezer as stocks had gotten really low, so today I visited morries, aldee, and hey diddle, tecimo earlier in the week as well as the £ shop. In total I have spent £263 out of my budget of £400, but I will only need bread, milk, fruit, veg and veggie diet lunches so I'm hoping that I come in at £400ish rather than 5-600 normally. The left over will be paid against a debt. This money is what dd2 and dd3 pay over as share of living here, I pay all the regular bills, so anything left over from this money will go to pay a c/c extra payment each month.
Took my mum shopping for an electric recliner chair, as the doctor has recommended one. She liked one on the shop floor which was really comfy and I asked for a discount and got £39 off it -really pleased at that. She decided to have a matching sofa and I said we would order one if she got a discount on that-another £75. Then she took me out for afternoon tea, yummy.
Got some Christmas items Stollen and 4 bottles of the drink that rhymes with er. Will be hidden until The Day.
Lots of decluttering to c/s done over last month, lots more to send.
Enjoyed reading my book this evening and now odd to bed. NightNSD 1/3,

Well to my surprise OH got the baby at half 5 (after asking do you want me to get her, erm yes) and DS and is currently trying to keep them both happy in the kitchen. Might rescue him soon
.
Not much planned today. OH will need to help a friend in town who does the Xmas lights switch on parade. Might just take the kids to the free art gallery and preserve a SFD.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Hi All,
As predicted yesterday was a spend day but I did meal plan for the week and bought extra milk to last the week. Hoping I won't need any other groceries until next Friday. My stepson is coming to stay from Friday until Monday next week and may be bringing his girlfriend to meet us, if she can get the time off work, so will definitely need to top up for that.
With regards to the mini challenge I will aim to Declutter the bathroom. I have a massive cupboard that is used for storing toiletries, cleaning products and misc items such as suitcases and blow up beds. My main declutter of the whole house is scheduled for after I finish work on 21st of November but it won't hurt to start before then.
Taking my Mums dogs back to her today. I'm going to miss them as will my dogs. They really love playing, and fighting together. It will seem quiet with only the 5 dogs left :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.

Yesterday was a spend day, but much lower than I had budgeted for: spent only £1.20 in Tescimo after using forgotten-about vouchers. In the evening went up to London so had to pay for travel (but minimised that using my Debit Card for contactless payment rather than topping up my Oyster). Saw the fireworks over the river (free) then realised that we had not planned what to do for dinner. Quick thinking and I searched my Gr*upon app to find 2 large burritos and a soft drink each for £9.95 right near where we were standing. Was super-duper tasty. Then off for cocktails & canapes which had been pre-paid a few months ago via W*wcher. Barmaid persuaded us to have another couple of drinks because it was happy hour- £4.30 for a pint of beer and glass of wine in a posh Kensington bar. Amazing!
Hoping for a NSD today. Lovely weather out there.. maybe a good opportunity for a walk with DH in the countrysideLetting Go NST #17

Morning turtles!
Stressedsteph - sorry I missed you yesterday! You now have a number.
Samiszel - glad you had a nice time. I'm always incredulous at London prices (and how they get away with it) but that doesn't sound too bad
dottydaisy - in awe of your self control. If I pre-bought stollen, I'd have to re-buy it I think!
committedtochange - welcome aboard! My inner OCD is actually quite upset that I have nothing left to declutter.... maybe I'll start on my mums!
liltdiddylilt - what a lovely idea with the advent calendars! I'm going to call my local one and see if they're accepting one, as I haven't given my donation yet as the bins were mysteriously missing from Tescos when I went.
Spendy day yesterday as decided to shop instead of going today. Today I have already been for a walk and had a shower, so now I'm settling down to study.

Hi all
Had a productive day so far, cleaned kitchen and bathroom and did the washing by 10, then went to the gym (and showered there so saved using out water!), now I'm just contemplating what else to declutter. I have tonnes of school work to do to but feeling rather miffed that it always impinges on my weekend (and all my evenings), I'd much rather be decluttering or go out and walk the dogs
Oh well better continue being productiveLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Another nsd up to four. Took DD1 swimming with her friend and paid with what is left of lottery money. Sat and read book for course whilst i waited for them to come out. I usually would of gone shopping and spent money. I have to confess i do miss shopping but i'm enjoying the challenge of saving money more and not having the stress of having to balance the books. Scales were always unbalanced to be honest. Calculated we could be debt free by christmas 2015.:Tbudgets = food gone:eek:/ petrol almost gone:eek:/nsd:mad:/ Treats: where the money gone? far far away:mad:/exercise not happening/declutter: only my purse:(
time for me :fat chance0 -
Hiya fellow turtles.
Sorry I didn't post yesterday got up and the slight rash on my neck I started with in the week had gone nuts red raw, itching and driving me nuts. Seems to be around my eyes as well. Red and itchy. Had to spend on E45 cream, ,priteze. Can't concentrate on anything. Dog is major malting mode to make things worse but she doesn't have the run for house anyway.
Today spend free day to be honest didn't want to go out with red neck turtle look going on. PLUS can't wear make up with sore eyes. Done nothing productive today. Itch and eat.
Going to dash off, hope the turtles with ill babies get well soon.

Also went to the gym so that's exercise session number 4
Didn't manage to declutter anything else as marking, lesson planning and walking the dogs has taken the whole afternoon and the evening so far but I am now downing tools, putting my feet up and looking forward to the sausages and roast veg that OH has preparedLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Milk, eggs and balsam tissues were purchased today. All required! Dd has used half a box of the treat-your-nose-kindly tissues, and given that I fully expect to catch her lurgi soon - after 2 nights of being coughed and spluttered over, I think it is inevitable - and I absolutely NEED balsam ones. Loo roll or normal tissues shred my nose in nanoseconds!
Unlike many who have decluttering triumphs to report... I haven't done any yet! But I shall... Soon... I have one bag ready to take to the Sally Army, and would like to get enough stuff for at least 2 more this month.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
