No NSD today due to petrol. Did get 4p off per litre and the tank will easily last me until the end of the month.

Wrote a list of 5 items to buy from Tescimos and for the first time ever I pretty much stuck to the list. Bought some breaded chicken fillets from the deli counter that weren't on the list, but they were reduced and will be dinner. Total came to £7.50. I couldn't believe it- I usually spend about £30 on rubbish I don't need but is on "offer" or BOGOF. I get really drawn in by these marketing ploys.

Went for a walk at lunchtime and also a 20 min walk this evening. Contemplating whether to go and view the council's firework display from my parents roof (it's a flat roof, don't worry!). More likely that I will stay home and put my snug panda outfit on instead :rotfl: Love the idea of getting a stick of bamboo to keep by the door!!!! Must go and have a rummage in the garage....

    Happy bonfire night all!

OH and small man have gone to a firework display, Im staying in with the dog, who wants to sit on my chest, but then I can't see to type.

Technically a NDS, paid for a prescription, will have to get a 1 year pre paid card, as they are pretty sure I have adult onset asthma and will need 2 inhalers plus the tablets long term and its way cheaper to get a pre pay card.

Had massive declutter of the kitchen and donated a pile of odd pots and bric a brac, now I can see what is in the cupboards.

Found 3 irons, I thought I had just one, they all seem to work, will give one to mum as a spare.

samiszel - well done on the walks. Now, if you had a fitbit, you'd be able see just how much it all adds up to...!:D Well done on resisting the bogofs and suchlike. I'm such an aldee shopper, where they don't do offers, so when I come across them elsewhere, I'm doing all the mental maths to work out the 100g price, to compare it with aldee prices! I can lose hours of my life like this....

sazzle - that elusive NSD remains just out of reach, eh? You WILL get it one day!

Aldee are selling Cmas wrapping paper for 99p for either 5 or 8m. 1 got 4 rolls, including a FROZEN one that doesn't mention Cmas on it, so we can use it for dd's birthday. Hmmm, maybe I should've got more of them!

Today I am grateful for discovering the wrapping paper, for getting lots of walking done, for making curried parsnip soup, for fireworks, for good chats with dh.

Fmess- I hang the washing on an airer and ensure a window is open. Dries within a couple of days with no smell. Just hung up a load now, in fact. I do try to do only one wash a week, though- wouldn't like to have any more damp clothes hanging up than that.

Thank you, I'll give the airer and the window a try. Can I ask how do you only do one load of washing a week? There are only two of us but I usually do 4 or 5 loads a week!

Moohound - I am currently sat with a dog glued to my side, he is breathing very heavily bless him. I'll take him upstairs soon and he'll hide under the bed :(

Today was SFD number 3 and LTW number 2 :) No exercise due to the fireworks having started before I got home so no dog walking and I don't want to leave them to go to the gym tonight.

Also did another tutoring session tonight and I've paid another £25 off the debt so I'm now below £8500 :)

Been thinking about my debt total as it includes a £500 overdraft that is on our joint account. I'm wondering whether to take this off my debt total as I intend to make OH pay half of this back, but I won't tell him, I'll just save a little bit from our bill money each month. Should I keep it in my total?

Enjoying staying in and being cosy now it get dark so early :)

  • Evening all,

I'm currently feeling sorry for myself after another rubbish day at work. Was looking forward to going to watch Paloma Faith tonight but she's postponed due to illness. Silver lining means the money I'd budgeted for car parking etc can go towards my overdraft.

Missed another NSD today. I'm managing to take lunches with me, but I'm not getting up early enough to eat breakfast so I'm then buying toast from the canteen

Haven't seen any more jobs to apply for, and haven't hit the goal on my fitbit but I have been hitting swagbucks goals everyday and found I had £5.90 in random money jars from roadkill travels so its not all bad :T

No SFD today as had to get milk for work and DS2 had a club (though don't think that actually counts as regular weekly spend that I put in an envelope at start of each month). All academic though, as apart from the milk I spent over £130 at butcher's. I only originally went for chicken breasts as DS1 requested fajitas for birthday meal - the last chicken we got from Mr T was truly awful and the next purchase, from Mr S, wasn't much better so now only buy from butcher. Anyway, thought would stock up on other stuff while I was there, and then to cap it all bought my turkey crown ready for Xmas!!

I have bought a lot of meat for freezer, but have practically blown entire month's food budget with 25 days to go! In theory only need fresh fruit, veg, bread & milk for rest of month as all meals planned and ingredients purchased, but can't see it happening..... Can only console myself that it's food and not any more "sexy" spends lol!

    Hi All,

    First SFD bagged today :j

My Mum is missing her dogs and has decided she is fit enough to have them back this weekend. I will be sorry to see them go - we have had then for around 13 weeks  It does mean I will lose a SFD as I need to buy some shampoo as I want to give them a bath before they go home.

I have to admit I have put my heating on but it only kicks in if it falls below 19 degrees and then only for an hour in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening.

Still working on my personal challenge. I currently do not have a major issue with my weight, exercise is dependent on my MS and I tend to eat reasonably healthy. I think maybe I should aim to have a bit more 'me' time. I will aim for at least 15 minutes me time every day.

    See you all tomorrow

Fmess- Maybe my washing machine takes a larger load? I don't wash things like jeans and skirts after only one wear. Most of the wash is made up of DH work shirts and our underwear! There are only two of us too. I also get changed into 'comfy' clothes as soon as I get home from work to preserve the quality of my nicer work clothes. Then I only really wash my 'comfy' clothes every so often, as nobody sees me in them anyway!

applemuncher- have added a Fitbit to my Xmass list!

Guys... I HAVE FINALLY PUT THE HEATING ON! Anyone managed longer than I have? DH feeling and looking very unwell, so I did it for him really- I could have managed longer, he he ;)
