NST November: battening down the hatches!

Negatives:
Made a lovely big pot of bolognese last night with mince and veg, ate some for dinner then forgot to put the rest in the fridge so it sat out all night and had to be thrown in the bin this morningOh well! I do have more mince so maybe I'll make another one tonight!
Unless it was 25C in your kitchen overnight, i would have kept it. Just heat it up properly again. Probably not everybody agrees, but trust me, I'm a biologist :rotfl:. I wouldn't do that with rice or potatoes though.
DS was a nightmare last night, still tried to take him to the fireworks but he fell asleep in the car. He definitely still needs a nap in the afternoon, which he doesn't get in his new nursery. Told them today to try to get him to sleep.
Told OH about the tescimo deal on the bin lorry for DS and he slightly frowned upon it because it was so cheap (well free with vouchers). First question, is it a brand? Well yes actually its a D..ie toy (won't let me type the name) and loads of good reviews. What is it with him. He seems to think items are only good if you pay good money for them. Same with birthday gifts for friends kids.Got sth crafty in TKM@xx reduced to £6 and he said should we get them sth else too (because we spent so little) and I tried to explain it's not about the monetary value paid but the idea and the thought. Just because they always pay £25 doesn't mean we need to. I rather give a cheap good present than a crappy one just to spend 25? Men......
Anyway, today should be SFD number 3.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Morning all
Sorry I haven't posted for a few days
If anyone wants company on the naughty step-budge over and make some room
I've spent 30.00 on costco membership, 20.00 on an Ironing board, this was urgently needed and 2.45 on bogof large bags of Doritos, for the work bring an item of food for lunch day  That is the only purchase I'm angry about as I really detest work lunches. I didn't really partake in it anyway. I also don't like Doritos, but they were the cheapest acceptable thing to bring in
Working from home should keep me out of mischief. Thrifty, I'm no biologist, but totally agree with not chucking that food out. I personally do the sniff test. If it smells ok-I'm eating it,lol. Some fantastic recipes given guys :TWell take care everyone and keep going

Cancelled my bus pass DD. Today we had to wait half an hour in the freezing cold and then came two busses after 6 from the wrong company (wrong for my pass) passed. Plus that line now also had a 20 min wait 4 stops before we need to get off. Got a week left after that we'll just use the other cheaper company that goes more frequently just not as far. Will have to walk/ carry DS further but will be less hassle in the end. So that will free up 40 quid. Got enough change in the house to cover the last two weeks.

Not much to report here.
Went to visit mum yesterday,so on the way back got some onions and a t.v guide. It came to 82p. Definitely know how to push this boat out!
Weather miserable today,so cheered myself up by going through my survey sites.Managed to claim £15 in Amaz*n vouchers and £80 in Arg*s vouchers.
The latter I want to use to get a steam cleaner. Bathroom is being turned into a shower room with a lot more tiles to clean so hope a steamer will be useful. Please let me know if you have any better ideas.

Today I am grateful for a lovely colleague helping me out at work, for dd's cuddles, for the sunshine meaning that I needed my shades on, for our microwave-able Bagpuss to warm up dd, for coxes orange pippin apples.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Evening all,
How annoying about the letter lilt and the buses thrifty
thrifty I hate that about present buying. I completely agree it's the quality of the gift not the price of it that counts.
Yay for the vouchers ilovetea
Not sure if anyone is interested but apparently Glamour magazine has a free Nails Inc nail varnish with it this month. The mag is £2ish and nail varnish is worth £11. Thought I might get a few and make up little pamper sets with patterned nail files etc for my friends for Christmas presents.
Today is SFD number 4also took lunch to work/came home to eat it and I've walked the dogs for over an hour and been for a swim so that's another exercise session done

Hi All,
Kept the hatches battened down today and have secured my 2nd SFD :j
Went round the refurb property tonight to check what actually needs doing. Only had a quick look but although there are a few unforeseen bits that bed doing there are other items that can just be cleaned up and salvaged. All in all I'm quite happy and confident that we should be able to come in on budget although I'm aiming for under budget.
Tomorrow should be a SFD but the weekend will probably be 2 spend days unless I can get completely organised and plan my purchases accordingly.
Nearly the weekend :T :j :T

Had me howling with laughter. I have a Kermit Onesie its real Disney one with collar, hood ears and have had to run after my recycling bins with it, my neighbours were hysterical.
Calling - This is amazing!! Did you go chasing them with your arms waving Kermit style?liltdiddylilt wrote: »
Had a horrid letter from HMRC this evening...
Lilt - What ridiculous timing, it is infuriating when the fault is caused by them!
Hi all,
Sorry I missed posting yesterday! I got in from work, quickly made my lunch for today, got changed, had dinner and was straight out to the fireworks! They were just over average but not outstanding! It was a pleasant but chilly evening and no money spent! Thoroughly enjoyed my hot choccy from my flask! Free lift there and back so a SFD achieved!
Also another SFD today so I am now up to: 3 SFDs :T
Bit of a shock getting up for work this morning to find that my car had turned into an ice cube over night! First time I have had to de-ice my car for an age!
Hope everyone is partaking in or preping for their car/bike/segway winter checks- wipers, washer fluid, oil, antifreeze/ levels etc, bulbs and tyres! I am awaiting wiper blades I ordered online. Haven't picked up a glass repair kit yet for a little chip in my windscreen, but after last night's freeze I think I better pull my socks up and get that sorted between now and the end of the weekend, along with all of the other checksNeed to get a better torch to keep in the car as my old one barely casts any light
Super duper tired! Not long until that Friday Feeling kicks in!
N'Noight shipmates! x:coffee:

Calling- I am super jealous of this Kermit onesie!! Sounds brilliant.
NSD number 4 for me today :j
Made pizza dough for the first time from scratch this evening. It looks like it has risen well, so putting it in the fridge wrapped in cling film (I hope this is right?!) until tomorrow. That saves spending on a Friday night takeaway!
Today my colleague lent me her Fit Bit for my lunchtime walk. Have moved it to top of my Xmass list nowLetting Go NST #17
