WOW Thrifty! What have you been cooking?!?!! And is your freezer the size of a shed?! :D

Actually it's a small build-in under the counter freezer from 1980 :rotfl:. Got (each serving approx. 2 people) 2 lamb tagines, 2 beef stews, 2 chillis/bolognese bases, 2 stir fries (just marinated meat with onion), 2 packs of sausages and leftover nurembergers, chicken drumsticks and chicken thighs, enough lamb/pork/beef mince for 6 meatball or mince meals, ingredients for fish pie, 6 chicken breast, a pork roasting joint, prawns and frozen veg. And there is still baby food and herbs frozen down too. Must be a tardis fridge :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Sazzle I had that problem yesterday, but it is posting each time! Just ignore when it says you haven't posted.

Thrifty that is incredible. Definitely a tardis freezer. If my freezer was that organised I don't think I would be able to sleep worrying about powercuts. So much food!!! Lol.

Think I went a bit OTT. But this month I wanted to try the approach of having everything in at the start but fresh fruit, milk and bread so I am really just doing little top up shops for that. We'll see if that works.

  • You know Calling. I think a lot of people on this thread are the same with clothes. None of us have wardrobes to be proud of. Most of the stuff was either on sale, seconds, or from cheap shops/charity shops. We have all been living for so long buying things that are absolutely necessary that there is never any pleasure in buying.

Off the naughty step. I am sure your purchases were well thought out, necessary and bargains!

  • Sorry, didn't get a chance to post yesterday and has been non-stop again so far today. Thought I'd better put something on today and have kept up with everyone else's posts but sorry if I don't comment on them.

Just wanted to say hi to all the new joiners this month, this ship's getting nice and cozy, does more people mean less effort rowing, or is it not that sort of ship? And well done Mothernerd on all your activity and getting house on market - must be a load off your mind, hope for a quick sale for you.

I have Ama$oned pretty much the whole of Xmas for DH and DSs over weekend, but as it's been paid for with money from a separate Xmas pot I haven't counted it in this month's budget. Once the pot has gone, any extra spends will be from my planned spends budget. Thought that was the easiest way to work it as it's extra money to my budget pots that has been squirreled away over last couple of months, although have counted them as spendy days as involved some serious online shopping, but happy to add it if that's against the "rules"....... Xmas budget will be one of my annual spends for next year, as will car insurance and maintenance, buildings and contents insurance, professional subscriptions and birthday presents. Also want a pot for holidays & big household purchases - don't holiday every year but nice to have it there already when we do decide to go.

SFD today though, bringing me to two, plus dumbbell routine first thing this morning. Off to update sig now, catch you all later.

    Good afternoon.

Stewby reporting in for a spend-free day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    :j

Am extremely happy today for a really stupid reason. I took my mum up the road so that she could buy a xmas present she had seen (no money spent by me).
Whilst in the shop, I noticed they had tartan shoes. The guy then told me that they handmake them and you can choose the tartan!!!!!!!

This means that I am going to change my choice of footwear for the wedding (bye bye trainers) and welcome in some lovely ballet pumps that match my dress.
The guy behind the counter also said that they use up the fabric to make extras for me... so, if there is enough material, I am going to get the shoes, two clutch bags and two hair scrunchies.
So am feeling fantastically amazing today!!!!!!
    :j

Erm... nothing else really to report. Sorry... just a bit hyper!!
    :D

Edit: forgot about yesterday. Was working all day so it was a spend-free day too. whoops.

Went in Costa :o my Mum desperately needed to pee, and there was no where else to go, and we bought 2 pots of tea, so avoided the overpriced coffee and went for the overpriced tea instead, £3.50 wasted on weak tea in order to pee.

Went in the town centre where I very rarely go, because, I hate the traffic, parked for free though so that was OK, had to take OH's watch for a battery and he need a new zip in his black tie/dinner suit trousers.

Bought my Mum her Christmas present, a handbag with 30% off :D

Got my friends little boy the rest of his present, so just OH to go and I'm done.

Spent £50 from food budget so £72 so far, £15 of that was on dog dinners, he eats better than we do. Got little man an advent calendar using points, so pleased with that.

Managed to break my casserole dish, got one today for £12 reduced from £30, and is nicer than the old one with better handles, so ho hum.
