  • Thanks everyone for your support and suggestions over the past week and a half, it really has been gratefully appreciated.

I feel bereft at the moment and heartbroken, but as someone said above, at least we know where she is now and she isn't lost or scared or hungry.

We'll get another rescue cat in a few months when a bit of water has passed under the bridge.

So sorry that the outcome hasn't been the one we've all been wishing for.

I really feel for you at this sad time.
But I hope you can take comfort in the fact that you did find Daisy so you could put her to rest and it seems that she probably didn't suffer.

So sorry to hear that MV. I hope that in time, knowing she was peaceful and near home when she went will be a comfort. (((hugs)))

Really sorry to hear Daisy has gone.

It's only a small comfort I know but, as other people have mentioned, she was near to home and it looks as though she wasn't chased off by anything / anyone.

All the best for the future, and just remember, Daisy was given a lovely life whilst she was with you.
  • So sorry to hear that, such sad news :(
At least she went peacefully and didn't suffer, and had a very happy life by the sounds of it.

So sorry to hear this, we lost our Tinka recently, found by some ladies beside the road and taken to the local vet who identified him from the chip.

We beat ourselves up for a while about it as we were on holiday at the time (if we hadn't gone, it wouldn't have happened etc), but at the end of the day, it's not going to bring him back.

We adopted a new rescue cat last week who is helping us overcome our loss.

I hope in time another cat will bring joy to your life.

So very sorry OP. I hope you can take comfort from knowing she went peacefully.
  • I am so so so sad :(

The house feels so wrong and empty without my girl.

Really struggled at work today as I just wanted to cry and to be honest although most people are sympathetic, I think unless you have/have had a pet you love so very much, it can be hard to understand the grief.

I just keep thinking she is lying in a box under the ground at the bottom of the garden. I keep listening for her bell but it's gone forever.

Sorry for the ramble. I just don't know what to do with myself :(

Oh, it's just so horrible when you realise that your pet is gone forever.

We lost our cat on Boxing day, 3 years ago. It was sudden and such a shock. There's a cat who lives opposite who is the spitting image of our Penny and even now, 3 years later, I still get a little pang when I see the other cat sitting on our garden fence. :(

Cry when you need to and take comfort in the fact that she came home at the end. Cats will often go outside and away from home if they know that the end is near, so the fact that she was found so close to home, just shows how much you meant to her.

    Take care, look after yourself
