Our cat is missing :(

Update:
OH leafleted not only our street but also the one directly behind as our gardens back onto gardens from theirs, and last night about 11am we had a text from a lady saying she thinks she saw Daisy either Thurs or Fri quite a way from us near a block of flats.
She then rang me and I had a chat with her. She says from the pic on the leaflet she is pretty sure it was Daisy. A man apparently chased the cat off and this lady said she tried to call the cat over but it disappeared.
So OH went off down to where she thinks she saw the cat last night, but of course no joy. If she was spotted 2 days earlier, it's unlikely she would still be there and also where we live (South London) there was tons of really noisy fireworks exploding..poor Daisy
So she could have wandered quite a way away and got herself totally lost/ Any more tips on what we can do apart from walk the streets calling her?
I really hate the idea she may be hungry and frightened. I wish she was back.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
You could try putting some posters up in the general area or placing a leaflet in a local shop window near where she was last seen. She may have found a safe place to hide in that area particularly if hunger has forced her to a approach people for food.0

Oh gosh, I do feel for you. Our new(ish) kitten went missing for a few days, earlier this year. We had kept her in until she was 5 months old (after neutering) and she loves going out into the garden, as far as we know, she doesn't wander far. Neither of our cats are allowed out of the front door and like your house OP, ours backs onto neighbouring gardens.
We walked around the streets calling her name and put up posters with her picture. She's a bog-standard tabby, no distinguishing features at all. She is chipped but doesn't have a collar, I don't use them after one of my cats came home with hers caught in her lower jaw after she'd tried to gnaw it off!
Our kitty eventually came home, very nervous, grubby and with a lot of sticky tar-like stuff stuck to her back fur, most of which I had to cut out, we washed some if it off and I didn't want her ingesting it, we had no idea what it was. She is a very nosy cat and we can only assume that she got trapped in a shed somewhere.
Don't lose heart, lots of cats go "missing" only to turn up a few days later. One of mine did it at this house, he was around 11-12 years old and we had lived here for at least 3 years, so he wasn't in an unfamiliar area or anything.
I hope you have a happy outcome, we're all thinking of you."I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
Hope you find Daisy soon - sending you luck and best wishes xx:j Now debt free :j0

If you haven't already spreading the word on facebook with a picture could be quite good, especially if you have any local area groups, or just urge loca friends to spread the post.
Our last cat once went missing, we had leafleted, called all vets in the area and contacted our local council to see if they had collected any deceased animals. After six weeks we paid to put an advert in our local paper with a picture and description, we had a phone call two weeks later, she had got herself into a self store unit!0 -
Just been out for a good walk around but no sign. OH is going to go out again after dark and have another go.

I'm in the same situation at the moment and am currently spamming any relevant local facebook site and asking my friends to share my post with photo.
I've also registered (again with photo) on the CPL lost cat site and rung all the local vets. Mine's an old boy who doesn't go far so I'm a bit worried he's sick -especially as when he has got sick or hurt before he tends to hide away -I've looked everywhere !
Last time this happened to us with a younger cat was a few days after my OH moved and we got burgled- Cat was asleep in the front room and must have taken flight when they came in. She came home 4 days later-just wandered in like nothing had happened !I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
