She is beautiful. We have a Daisy too, she is the one who went AWOL for a week. You could also try looking at the windows of the houses you pass when you are out searching for her...when our Daisy was missing I heard of a few instances where missing cats were found sitting in the windows of neighbours houses! Also shake a box of Gocat or whatever cat treats you normally give her. Good luck.

    Don't lose hope.
Mine went missing this time last year and we were so upset.
We had a local fb campaign going, put up posters, contacted all vets, microchip company, all local rescues etc but nothing.
Even called the council to see if they had cleared his body up from the road :(
Then 8 weeks later I got a call from a vet 40 miles away. He'd been being fed by an old lady and she eventually thought that maybe someone was missing him and got a friend to take him to the vet to check. She had been feeding him for over a month. We still have no idea how he got there.
  • Fingers crossed she's home soon. I've read that emptying the contents of your vacuum cleaner works - its worth a try xx

ring around any vets within a 50 mile radius. I have heard of cats sneaking aboard cars and ending up miles from home! plus get your chip updated!
she is gorgeous metranil - I do hope she returns soon - safe and sound.
  • Still no sign.

OH has resigned himself to her never coming back, I'm trying not to but I fear we wont see her again :(

Going to ring the vets this am and OH is going to contact the chip company and do some leaflets.

    I feel so down.

So sorry OP. It's terrible when this happens.

Have a walk around the neighbourhood and in particular check neighbour's windows. Our old cat went missing for six months once until my sister saw her staring down at her from a neighbour's window.

A group of students had essentially locked her in and removed her collar as they 'thought' she was underfed (very lithe cat and she struggled to put on weight despite pouches galore) and they decided to keep her. They gave my dad her back and also handed the collar back (which had their phone number on it!) More like she wandered into their house and they decided to steal her, but okay...

Another time she went missing another six months and just appeared in the back garden one day covered in fleas and ticks and with a big chunk out of her ear. Came back inside like she'd gone out that morning.

Hope she comes back OP, she's beautiful.

Fingers crossed for a happy ending to this.

My first female tabby disappeared for 18 months and then turned up on our back garden.
She was a lot fatter than when we last saw her, we reckon she'd been taken in and kept in by somebody and escaped to come home.

    Don't give up hope.
  • Thanks all.

I'll keep the thread updated with any news.

  • Fingers crossed for you. I have had 14 cats over the years..3 of which went walkabout for a number of weeks, one of them was gone for 8 weeks before making her return the other for around 2 weeks. Only ever had the one who went out and we never found out what happened to her.
I know the feeling all too well. But cats are very resourceful and I have my fingers crossed she will wander back in like nothing happened very soon x
  • OH has now updated her identichip with current details so if she is found and scanned he will be notified. I have called all the vets in the area and notified them.
Leaflets going out tonight so feel we are doing all we can.

Please can you all just send us positive Daisy vibes.
