    Any update yet? News?

It's every cat parent's worst nightmare.
  • Just thought I would update.

Sadly we had a call from our next door neighbour earlier today to say he had found Daisy in some undergrowth as he was clearing his garden :(

It looks as if she had been there for a while, although she was curled up like she was asleep so we are taking some comfort from thinking she just passed away peacefully in her sleep.

I can't believe I have been out there calling her 4-5 times a day for the past 10 days though and she was probably 100 metres away from me :(

OH buried her under the tree at the bottom of our garden with a cat toy, near where we scattered our other dear cat's ashes.

We are so devestated. I have cried till my eyes are sore and my head is aching. We love and will miss her terribly.

I lost my Dad suddenly in July this year, and now this. Life feels very unfair right now.

    RIP Daisy-May - 2004 - 2014

Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,
You don't even take him seriously,
How am I going to get to heaven?,
When I'm just balanced so precariously..

So sorry to read your sad news.I have been checking every day hoping for a good outcome,But at least you know what has happened, and won't spend forever worrying and wondering if she is still out there suffering. She did not go far,and that proves she loved her home and you all.

    Hope this helps

    Four Feet in Heaven

Your favourite chair is vacant now...
No eager purrs to greet me.
No softly padded paws to run
    Ecstatically to meet me.
No coaxing rubs, no plaintive cry
Will say it's time for feeding.
I've put away your bowl, and all
    The things you won't be needing;
But I will miss you little friend,
    For I could never measure
    The happiness you brought me,
    The comfort and the pleasure.
And since God put you here to share
    In earthly joy and sorrow;
I'm sure there'll be a place for you
    In Heaven's bright tomorrow.

    and this one too

    Cat Poem

    They will not go quietly,
the cats who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
    their spirit still survives.
Old habits still make us think
we hear a meow at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
    we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them. . . and always will.
  • Very very sorry to hear of your loss :-(
  • BoPsie and me lost our tiger last year, Monty. He was replaced soon via Cats Protection as Raffles. We nearly went 4 weeks without cat!

Sorry for your loss. I had my 17 year old cat put to sleep in June and I still miss her terribly. In October I got another cat, Sophie, who is really sweet and I already love her dearly, but she is not my old girl.

Just checked in here and read your sad news. No words can make your pain any better but at least Daisy passed in her sleep and you know where she is now. RIP Daisy. X

So sorry to hear about your loss. We had the same happen with one of our cats a few years ago. She was found curled up under a hedge. At least you found her and were able to bury her in your garden. Another cat we owned kept wandering and after many occasions of going to fetch him, including from a caravan about 50 miles away (he had got in and gone to sleep before they set off home!) we eventually heard no more and to this day do not know if he is still alive.

Take comfort in the fact that you gave your cat a lovely happy life! xx
