Don't really see the problem in teaching kids self control as long as you aren't teasing them obviously.
In fact most kids these days could do with learning self control- that is why obesity keeps rising!
Self control would be them choosing to forego the sweets as they had some yesterday, not the 'adult' deciding that they must forego the sweets while he does not!"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." The way I read it was that the OP is going to the shop for a bar of choc or packet of crisps as, say, part of his working day, lunchtime or before he starts for example.
Yet his fiance thinks that if he buys himself a treat during the day he should buy the kids one too and give it to them when he gets home.0 -
It depends on where the kids were - if I have the grandkids with me, then, of course, i would buy them some sweets, but i wouldn't buy them something every time i went into a shop without them!
Common sense applies really.
